Japan is now having a great boom in pets. In my town, I see a lot of owners taking their dogs for a walk, too. I can also see the boom on the blog site note. It has hundreds of thousands of articles about pets. Among them is Shinjiy-san's article, which has interested me. It has a lot of photos of the owners who are walking their dogs around in a park in Tokyo. I also heard on the news that an outlet mall in Chiba has opened a café in which customers can bring their dogs. The dogs and their owners have surprised me with their good manners. In particular, I am surprised by how well the owners have been training their dogs. In my childhood, I used to find a lot of dog deposits in parks and on roads. I also used to see dogs peeing everywhere. But I have lately seldom seen any deposits and pee. I sometimes saw a dog peeing in a park. But it never bothers me. The owner flushes the pee out with water to keep the place clean. So, I, who have no pets, can enjoy seeing dogs running around in a park. The boom is unlikely to come to an end for the time being.
I have something I would like to ask of these dogs and their owners. The other day, I saw a golfer with a golf bag waiting for a car on the street near my home. It was early morning, about 6:00 a.m. Then, he suddenly began to walk to a car park, leaving the bag unattended and stopped by a wall in the car park. And he began to pee against the wall, looking around. It was so early that he seemed to think that he would not be seen to be peeing. He made me open my eyes widely in surprise and fail to close my open mouth. I wondered why he did not pee at a convenience store within a minute's walk away. I also wondered if he might have peed anywhere on golf courses without having a second thought.
It was the second time I had seen him peeing against the wall. He really needs to see and learn from one of these well-behaved dogs and the owners.

　日本は今、ペットが大ブームです。ボクが住む街でも、犬を散歩に連れて行く飼い主さんをよく見かけます。「note」でもペットブームがよくわかります。ペットに関する記事が何十万とあります。その中で気になったのがShinjiyさんの記事です。都内の公園で犬が飼い主さんと散歩している写真がたくさん載っています。また、千葉のアウトレットモールには、犬同伴OKのカフェがオープンしました。こうした犬や飼い主さんのマナーの良さには驚かされています。特に、飼い主さんが犬をよくしつけていることに驚いています。ボクが子供の頃は、公園や道路に犬の糞がたくさん落ちていたものです。オシッコをする犬もよく見かけました。でも、最近はほとんど見かけなくなりました。公園でおしっこをしている犬をたまに見かけますが、気になりません。飼い主さんが、おしっこを水で洗い流し、その場所をきれいにしてくれているからです。なので、ペットがいないボクも、公園で走り回る犬を楽しむことができます。このブームは当分終わりそうにありません。
　そんな犬たちや飼い主さんに、頼みたいことがあります。先日、自宅近くの路上でゴルフバッグを持ったゴルファーが車を待っているのを見かけました。早朝の6時頃でした。そしたら、バッグをほったらかしにして、突然、駐車場に向かって歩き始め、その塀のそばで立ち止まったのです。そして、あたりを見回しながら、なんと壁に向かっておしっこを始めたのです。あまりに早い時間だったので、おしっこをしているところを見られることはないと思ったようです。ボクは目が点になり、開いた口が塞がりませんでした。歩けば1分のところにあるコンビニになぜいけなかったのか？もしかしたら、ゴルフ場でも平気でオシッコをしていたかもしれないとも思いました。
この光景を見たのは２回目です。しつけのいい犬と飼い主さんに会って、学んでもらいたいものです。
