Our Approach to Safety

At REALITY, you can break free from the constraints of the real world to become “whoever you want” and express yourself in several ways. 
We have users who actively pursue their dreams and objectives, users who support those giving their best in their activities, users who just want to enjoy a relaxed REALITY lifestyle, and many other forms of becoming whoever you want. 

In order to make REALITY a place where many people can connect and engage in a variety of activities, we believe that it is necessary to make REALITY a safe environment for the community to use. We have been working on various initiatives such as strengthening audits and developing functions to make REALITY safer. On the other hand, we have not disclosed to you our specific efforts and the number of detections to date.

To ensure that everyone can enjoy REALITY with peace of mind, we have decided to launch a Transparency Report this month to disclose the number of issues that have been addressed, our efforts to improve safety, problems reported by users, and our policy for resolving these issues. The Transparency Report will be updated monthly.

Number of Cases Handled - January 2024

In January, due to the impact of year-end holidays and events, the number of detected fraudulent activities related to event and holiday-related issues remained high, resulting in both the reporting and penalty numbers staying at similar elevated levels as the previous month. The usage restriction numbers for users under 13, which had decreased in the previous month, increased once again.

Efforts in January 2024

Regarding the use of the service in the same Wi-Fi environment:

As repeatedly communicated, REALITY prohibits the "sending of gifts through multiple accounts" during events from a fairness perspective, and strict measures are taken if detected.

Concerns have been raised about the handling of event fraud, particularly regarding receiving gifts from family or friends' accounts in the same Wi-Fi environment. While specific conditions cannot be disclosed, REALITY considers various usage situations during fraud detection. Receiving gifts from accounts using the same Wi-Fi as the streamer alone will not be subject to penalties.

There is no need to be overly concerned, and we hope you can enjoy REALITY with your family and friends.

Regarding the act of claiming to be under the age of 13 in REALITY

As previously emphasized, creating an account on REALITY requires being 13 years or older, and if the use by a child under 13 is determined, permanent account suspension measures are implemented.

However, there have been cases where individuals within REALITY have set their age below 13 in their profile or jokingly claimed to be under 13. Since it is challenging for third parties to discern whether this is the actual age, such cases are not uncommonly reported as used by someone under 13.

As the staff, we consider usage situations beyond self-claimed age when making penalty decisions. Occasionally, individuals subject to restrictions claim that they are, in fact, 13 or older.

To prevent unexpected usage restrictions on important accounts, we kindly ask that you refrain from claiming to be under 13 within the service. Alternatively, if it's clear to anyone that the claimed age is not the actual age, please provide additional information such as "self-claimed" or "virtual age" to assist in cooperation.
