Q. What is your most memorable school event?

Ryuhei: Baking sweet potatoes when he was an elementary student. At his school, the students gathered fallen leaves in autumn and baked sweet potatoes.

Shunto: He said the same as Ryuhei but when he was in a daycare.

Junon: Vegetable harvest festival when he was an elementary student. His teachers played a song titled “Harvest Festival” in a band, and he played drums with them.

Q. What was your favorite school lunch menu?

Note: Japanese school lunch called “給食 (きゅうしょく kyushoku)” at elementary and middle schools and is quite different from other countries. It’s not like a school cafeteria. Students who are in charge of carrying big containers from kyushoku room to classroom and put side dishes on each plate for other students. Then everyone eats together.

Ryoki: Curry rice. He remembered students ate kyushoku fast because they wanted to play outside after eating. Only the day for curry rise, nobody was outside to enjoy it until everything was gone.

Junon: Miso ramen. He enjoyed opening the warm curly noodles from a bag and pouring the miso soup over the noodles.

Sota: Miso ramen. He said exactly the same as Junon.
Shunto: Fried chicken wrapped in nori seaweed flakes. He was psyched when kyushoku menu was meat.

Leo: There was a mother of his friend who was a kyushoku teacher. (I think he meant she was a nutritionist.) She sometimes asked him what he wanted to eat.
