当番組は基本的に楽曲の説明はしない方針ですが、先週放送した「Is This the Life We Really Want?」と並んで、今回の選曲については、必然と必要性を感じられるため簡素な解説をさせていただきます

①Muslimgauze-Jerusalem Knife

英国マンチェスター出身のBryn Jonesによるソロプロジェクト
1983年より同名義で、サンプラーとアナログシンセ、中近東由来の楽器など使った電子音楽を量産
ほとんどは数百枚単位の小ロットでの自主制作盤としてリリースされた

名盤「Hamas Arc」(1993)より、緊張感にみちた空気と金属的な残響音によるアンビエントなコラージュ部分をピックアップ

CDジャケット裏面には’Dedicated to the P.L.O.（パレスチナ解放機構に捧ぐ）のクレジットがあり
当時、震えながらTHE ORBの名曲「Assassin」(1992)とミックスした記憶があります

②K Foundation Presents The Red Army Choir-K Cera Cera (War Is Over If You Want It)

THE ORBとともに、1990年代にアンビエントを再定義し活性化させた最重要ユニットThe KLF（Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond）が1993年イスラエルでリリースした変名ラストシングル

リリース当時、この音源は存在の噂のみが先行し入手は極めて困難
現在discogsにも掲載されていない、友人が池袋WAVEで9000円ぐらいで購入した限りなくブートっぽいCDを、拝み倒して聴かせてもらった記憶がある（笑）

これは1993年のいわゆるオスロ合意
ノルウェー仲介でイスラエルとP.L.O.が和平交渉に合意し、パレスチナ暫定自治協定が成立
また、アメリカのクリントン大統領の仲介で、ワシントンでイスラエルのラビン首相、パレスチナのアラファトＰＬＯ議長が握手
1994年のノーベル平和賞を受賞するなど、和平のはじまりを記念した楽曲でした

しかし1995年のラビン首相暗殺事件もあり……
オスロ合意30周年を祝福すべき2023年現在
事実上、この和平合意案は無効となっています

③Seiei Jack-MIMI OTOKO JYUKOUGYOU TEKI GISHIKI 耳男 重工業的儀式

公式資料によればセイエイジャックは
「日本のアンダーグラウンド音楽家であり、コラボレーションアーティストでもあります。彼は、本名を公表していないため、正確な出生名や生年月日は不明です」とのこと

1990年代から英国で美術展を開くなど、国際的に活躍する芸術家ですが、本作は凶悪な騒音、ハーシュノイズ（Harsh Noise）作品であると同時に、2023年リリースの最新音源の一つでもあり

今回の選曲では、戦争や混乱、憎悪を象徴する音響として使っています

④Faith No More-War Pigs

1979年頃より活動開始した米国のロックバンドFaith No More
特にMike Patton加入後の「The Real Thing」(1989)により、オルタナ系ハードロックの代名詞的なバンドとして人気を博します

同作に収録されたこの「War Pigs」は
英国のロックバンドBlack Sabbath「Paranoid」(1970)に収録された反戦ソングのカバーです
