Unsure for a day trip（日帰り旅行で迷っている）→Google翻訳だと、"日帰りだと不安"になっていました。

I am going back to Japan in October. :)

I have been to Japan roughly 10 times in the past (have visited - Tokyo, Nikko, Nagano, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Hakone, Kamakura, Kawaguchiko, Kawagoe, Miyajimi, Nara, Yokohama….).

This time Im only going for 8 full days and so going to be spending most of the time in Tokyo but planning on making 2 day trips (either sleeping there or late train back)

Currently thinking about Sendai, Kanazawa, Osaka or Niigata.

Would anyone have another suggestion?

I would like ideally a maximum 3.5 hour train back to Tokyo.
As its still relatively cheap I’ll use a 7 day JR pass if it pays off so distance is the only criteria really.

Im just wondering if anyone has a suggestion if maybe a cool coastal town or a nice mountainous town or somewhere that I may not have thought of that would be worth a visit seen as the JRPass is still cheap :)

Or if you think any of my current ideas would be the best choice :)

10月に日本に戻ります。 :)

私は過去におよそ 10 回日本に行ったことがあります (訪れたことがあります - 東京、日光、長野、京都、広島、箱根、鎌倉、河口湖、川越、宮島、奈良、横浜など)。

今回は丸8日しか行かないので、ほとんどの時間を東京で過ごすことになりますが、2日間の旅行を計画しています（東京で寝るか、遅い電車で帰るかのどちらか）。

現在、仙台、金沢、大阪、新潟のいずれかを考えています。

誰か別の提案はありますか?

理想的には東京まで最長 3 時間半の電車で戻りたいと思っています。
まだ比較的安いので、効果があれば JR の 7 日間パスを使用するつもりです。そのため、実際の基準は距離だけです。

JRパスがまだ安いので、涼しい海岸沿いの町、素敵な山間の町、あるいは私が思いつかなかった場所に訪れる価値のある場所はないか、誰か提案があるかどうか疑問に思っています:)

または、私の現在のアイデアが最良の選択だと思われる場合:)

Personally, I like chestnuts, so I thought Nagano and Obuse would be good, but you've already been there.
Nakatsugawa is also famous for its chestnuts, so it might be a good idea to combine it with Nakasendo.

I also like Kanazawa. I went there 3 times.
The 21st Century Museum of Art, Kenrokuen Garden, Myoryuji Temple (Ninja Temple), Higashi Chaya District, and more.
Ninja Temple requires a telephone reservation at least one week in advance.
You can probably book through the tourist office (or through your hotel concierge).

In Sendai, Naruko Gorge, Akiu Otaki, Rairai Gorge, etc. are the best season for autumn foliage.

個人的には、栗が好きなので、長野と小布施が良いと思いましたが、あなたは既に行っていた。
中津川も栗が名物なので、中山道とセットにするのも良いかもしれない。

金沢も好きです。3回行きました。
21世紀美術館と兼六園、妙立寺（忍者寺）、ひがし茶屋街など、見どころ一杯です。
忍者寺は１週間前以降に電話予約が必要です。

今見直して、大滝が翻訳されてないのに気づきました。（苗字と勘違いしたのかな？）big waterfallじゃないと通じないかも。

中津川の栗きんとんは横浜のそごうではじめて購入しましたが、正月の栗きんとんとは別物で、素朴でおいしかった。取り寄せしようか考えた位。

小布施の栗は、小布施堂の商品が近所の小田急OXにも売っていたと思うので、手に入れやすいと思います。
