名言集#19 Pablo Picasso

どんな人？
Pablo Picasso (born October 25, 1881, Málaga, Spain—died April 8, 1973, Mougins, France) Spanish expatriate painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer, one of the greatest and most-influential artists of the 20th century and the creator (with Georges Braque) of Cubism. (For more information on Picasso’s name see Researcher’s Note: Picasso’s full name.)
The enormous body of Picasso’s work remains, and the legend lives on—a tribute to the vitality of the “disquieting” Spaniard with the “sombre…piercing” eyes who superstitiously believed that work would keep him alive. For nearly 80 of his 91 years, Picasso devoted himself to an artistic production that contributed significantly to and paralleled the whole development of modern art in the 20th century.
昨日、質問箱で届いていた質問「誰かの名言言って！」で
Pablo Picassoの言葉「Everything you can imagine is real」について語った。
今日良いなと思った彼の他の名言をこの記事に載せます。

全てが奇跡。お風呂で砂糖の塊のように溶けてしまわないのも奇跡。
お風呂でふやけはしても溶けはしない。
Picassoさんの様に日常からもっと奇跡を感じるべきなのかもしれない。
私の奇跡？
チャンスはあったのに、見送って見逃して、逃し続けた事かな。
迷っていて、心が定まらなくて、チャンスをものにできなかった。
チャンスが来た時に毎回、「これは奇跡だ！」と思えていたら？
迷わずにYESと言えていたら、と思うけれど迷いがあったからこその今。
奇跡は起きる。YESと言えるのは奇跡

真実が一つしかないなら、同じテーマで100枚のキャンバスを描けない。
十人十色、どころじゃなくて100人100キャンバス。
書き手の数だけ答えがあったら、答え合わせに意味がないかもしれない。
合っているかどうかではなくて、感性が合う人をみつけやすい。
友達と美術館に行くと、友達が見たい所に付いていく。
いつも立ち止まらない絵の前、彫刻の前、アートの前で時間を過ごす。
ぱっと見惹かれない芸術作品でも、じっくり見ると違うものが見えてくる。
1人で行くと、いつも自分が立ち止まる所はいつも同じところ。
美術館の入り口からどう歩くと好きな絵の部屋に行けるか体が覚えている。
Washington DCの美術館が無料で入れるからこそ言える事かもしれない。
有料のところもあるけれど、私が好きな美術館は幾つかあって全部無料。

芸術は真実ではない。芸術は真実を悟らせるための嘘。
同じことを表現しようとして少しでも違いがあると揉める。
宗教とか、政治とか、いろんな分野で揉め方がある。
辿り着きたいところは同じであっても、方法と名称で揉める。
芸術も文学も、世に合わない事をすると酷評を受ける。
酷評を受けたことが何年後かには素晴らしいと言われる可能性がある。
死後に評価が上がる作家とか画家とか、どれくらいの数なのだろう。
書く事もArt。
何を描くかで掲載場所が変わってしまうのは正しいと思う。
甥っ子と姪っ子が見る所にあって欲しくないトピック、あるある。
アートだとしても、現実でも、忌避感があったりする。
そこから学ぶのは何かというと、自分の許容範囲と倫理観。

できると思うとできて、できないと思うとできない。これは議論の余地のない法則。
その通り過ぎて、震える。
よく考えると、良い事を思い込んでいたら、本当にそうなる。
その逆は、悪い事を考え続けたら、本当にそうなる。
この現象を Self-Fulfilling Prophecy と呼ぶ。
これについて以前書いたことがある。
『自己実現的予言 《予言したという事実がその実現をもたらす』（Weblio）、『自己達成しつつある予言、自己達成的予言』（英辞郎）、それは自分で成就させてしまう予言、思い込んでいたら本当にそうなってしまう事。
実は…Pablo Picassoの絵は私の好みではない。
でも彼のSculpturesは好き。
シカゴのDaley Plazaにある15ｍのアート。
Guggenheim Museumにあった60㎝くらいのフィギュアも好き。
