I read an article by point2vue410-san that refers to Lyon, a French city. It says that Lyon is where he first landed in France. It reminds me of my experience in the city. I had a customer in Lyon and used to fly there many times. I did not mind flying there as the meetings with them were fruitful. But I always had a problem after the meetings. It means that I always had to waste a lot of time after the meetings. This is because I could find no flight going back to London at a convenient time. I would usually finish the meetings in the morning and have lunch with the customer. Then I would go to Lyon airport. But I had to waste a few hours there until my flight to London, which would only leave Lyon in the early evening. But the airport was small and was not as big as I had expected. So it did not have many facilities to kill my time and I had to spend at least a few hours sitting a seat there. It was so boring that I tried to do something to kill the time. It was making a meeting report that I did there. It was one of my most boring experiences.
I also had an embarrassing experience at the airport. I fell on the floor at the airport. Arriving at the airport from London, I got out of the plane and was walking through the airport. Then, suddenly, I lost my balance and slipped up. That surprised not only me but also those who were around me. That was so surprising that an airport staff came to me to see if I was OK. I had never taken the fall like that since I was a child. I was so embarrassed that I got up immediately and walked away as if I had run away.
Lyon had not always given me bad things. Sometimes, it fascinated me. It had a lot of good local food that fascinated me a lot and it also had ancient monuments. What surprised me the most was the Ancient Theatre of Fourvière.

　point2vue410さんの記事を読んでいたら、フランスのリヨンに関する記事がありました。同氏が初めてフランスに降り立たれた地がリヨンだったそうです。この記事を読んで、リヨンでの体験を思い出しました。リヨンに顧客がいて、何度も足を運びました。お客さんと打ち合わせをするのは苦でもなく、いつも実りあるものでした。でも、いつも、打ち合わせ後が問題でした。打ち合わせの後、何時間も空港で待たなければならなかったのです。これは、ロンドンにもどるフラにとが都合のいい時間になかったためです。いつも、午前中に打ち合わせを終え、お客さんとランチをした後に、空港に向かっていました。そこで、ロンドン行きのフライトの時間まで何時間も待たなければなりませんでした。ロンドン行の便は、夕方にしかないのです。でも、空港は小さく、予想してたほど大きくありませんでした。そのため、暇つぶしの施設がないため、空港の椅子に座って待ちました。あまりに退屈なので、打ち合わせ議事録を書いて時間をつぶしました。これが、いままで一番暇な体験の一つです。
　また、リヨンの空港で恥ずかしい思いをしたこともあります。空港で転んだのです。ロンドンから到着して、飛行機を出て、空港内を歩いていたところ、急にバランスを崩して、すっ転んでしまいました。自分もびっくりしたのですが、周りの人もびっくりしていました。ひどい転び方だったので、空港の職員さんが大丈夫と声をかけてくれました。こんな転び方をしたのは子供の時以来でした。あまりに恥ずかしく、すぐに立ち上がり、逃げるようにした空港をでました。
　リヨンは、悪い事ばかりではありません。たまに、楽しませてくれました。地元の郷土料理はおいしく、また、古代遺跡もありました。一番感動したのは古代ローマ劇場でした。
