The happiest news is my daughter’s wedding. She was officially married last year but could not have the ceremony due to COVID-19. This April saw it at last. I was extremely happy to see her in her wedding gown. It was the happiest day of my life.
The most devastating news is the Russian invasion to Ukraine. The war has never been far from my mind. I have nothing to stop it and am useless with it. I hope that 2023 will mark an end to the war and that Ukrainians will resume their ordinary lives.
What now concerned me the most is Tamori-san’s meaningful prediction, saying that the coming year would be the beginning of a new era as before the war.

今年一番嬉しかったのは、娘の結婚式です。公式には、昨年結婚したのですが、コロナの影響で式を挙げていませんでした。この4月にそれが叶いました。娘のウェディングドレスの姿を見て、めちゃくちゃ嬉しかったです。ボクの人生で最高に幸せな一日でした。
　最も悲惨なニュースは、ウクライナ戦争です。このことがボクの頭から離れません。自分がなにも出来ないことに無力さを感じます。2023年は戦争が終わり、ウクライナの人々に普段の生活が戻ることを願うばかりです。
　また、タモリさんが、来年は「新しい戦前」になると意味深な発言をされ、気になりました。
