Today I went for a regular dental checkup. Fortunately, I was advised that there was nothing wrong with my teeth, and then, I received my teeth cleaning. But, I only have 5 to 6 natural teeth and my remaining teeth consist of false teeth, implant and bridge because I have undergone many dental treatments since my childhood including a very expensive treatment in high school and other small treatments thereafter. In particular, I was really shocked with having false teeth around five years ago.
Almost half a century has passed since I went for a dentist. During the period, I found significant improvements in skills of dentists around my town. As a result, they provide me with not only high-level treatments at a reasonable cost, but also services even on Saturday. However, dental clinics have significantly increased in number and now face fierce competitions. The increase helps me to have more choices, but I am concerned about their overwork.

　今日、歯科検診にいってきました。6ヶ月ぶりでした。問題なしと言われ、安心しました。ボクの歯は悲惨です。とはいえ、ボクの歯は、下の前歯5～6本以外は、入れ歯、差し歯とブリッジです。高校生の時に高額な治療を受けましたが、その後の問題が発生し、都度、治療をしてきた結果、今の状態になっています。5年くらい前に部分入れ歯を入れたときはさすがにショックでした。
　歯医者さんに通うようになって半世紀になりますが、歯医者さんの技術が格段にアップしていると感じています。そのお陰で、近くの歯医者さんで高度な治療を受けることができるようになっています。また、土曜日の診察も可能になっています。ただ、歯医者さんの数は驚くほど増えており、競争が激化しています。患者にとっては選択肢が増え、ありがたいことですが、歯医者さんは大変だろうなと推察しています。
