The other day, I read an article about a thing left behind on the Note. It is the work of Shinjiy-san. When he was in Egypt, he left his coat in a hotel in Cairo. But he was lucky that it came back to him safely. It was thanks to the good support of the hotel and the airlines.
I had a similar experience in the United States. I left my suit in a hotel near the JFK airport, and it did not come back to me. It was the last day of my business trip to the US. The day before, I went to the airport to take a flight to Japan, but I had to change it and take the next day's flight. The original flight was so crowded that it was overbooked and the airline was looking for passengers who would accept a change to the next day's flight. When I heard about it, I volunteered to agree to the change subject to being upgraded to the business class. Then, the airline accepted it and gave me a free hotel voucher for one night.
It was in a room at the hotel that I had left my suit. As soon as I entered the room, I took the suit out of my suitcase and hung it in the wardrobe. But the next day, I left the room without packing the suit. And, without being aware of it, I took the flight to Japan in business class and came home in a good mood.
And I opened my suitcase and found that I had left my suit in the hotel. So I immediately emailed the hotel to see if they could find my suit, but they could not. So I had to give up my suit for the upgrade to business class. If I had not had agreed to the change, I would not have lost the suit.

　先日、noteで忘れ物についての記事を読みました。Shinjiyさんの作品です。エジプトに行ったとき、カイロのホテルにコートを置き忘れたそうです。でも、幸運にも、ホテルと航空会社のサポートのおかげで、コートは無事戻って来たそうです。
ボクも、アメリカで同じような経験をしました。JFK空港近くのホテルにスーツを置き忘れたのですが、戻ってきませんでした。それは、アメリカ出張の最終日の事でした。前日に、日本行きの便に乗るために空港に行ったのですが、翌日の便に変更することになったのです。当初の便はオーバーブッキングになるほど混雑しており、航空会社が翌日の便への変更を受け入れてくれる乗客を探していたのです。それを聞いて、ビジネスクラスにアップグレードしてくれることを条件に、変更に同意することを申し出ました。すると航空会社は、それを受け入れ、1泊分のホテル無料券をくれました。
　スーツを置き忘れたのはそのホテルの一室でした。部屋に入るとすぐにスーツケースからスーツを取り出し、クローゼットにかけました。でも、翌日、スーツをスーツケースに詰めずに部屋を出たのです。そして、そのことに気づかないまま、ビジネスクラスで日本に向かいました。ビジネスクラスで帰国でき、上機嫌でした。
　そして家でスーツケースを開けた途端、ホテルにスーツを忘れてきたことに気づきました。それですぐにスーツが見つからないかホテルにメールで問い合わせたのですが、見つかりませんでした。結局、ビジネスクラスへのアップグレードのためにスーツを犠牲にしてしまいました。変更に同意していなければ、スーツを失うことはなかったでしょう。
