When I travelled to Colombia on business, I used a special air ticket. It is called a Round-the-world ticket which allows me to travel to several continents on one ticket. It enabled me to travel efficiently. At the time I had planned to visit a Colombian customer, I had had to find a way to save my travel costs as much as possible. It was too costly to just visit Colombia. So I had planned a round-the-world trip. In other words, I planned to fly first to the Netherlands and the United Kingdom in Europe, then to Colombia and the United States. Then, I struggled to find as budgeted a ticket as possible and found out the round-the-world ticket. In fact, it cost less than other tickets. It also looked easy to use as it allowed route changes, but in practice, it did not. I was aware of it in Europe and Colombia.
After I started the trip and left Japan, I was asked by my company to join and take care of a colleague who would fly to the West Coast. So I had to change the routes of my air ticket and went to the service counters of the airline that issued the ticket. It was the beginning of my struggle.

　コロンビアに出張した時に、特殊な航空券を使いました。世界一周航空券と言われるもので、一つの航空券で複数の大陸を周遊できるものです。そのおかげで、効率的な出張ができました。コロンビアのお客さんを訪問することを計画した際、できるだけ、旅費を抑える方法を見つけなければなりませんでした。コロンビアにだけ出張するのは費用がかかりすぎからです。そこで、世界一周をすることを思いつきました。最初に、欧州のオランダと英国を訪れ、その後、コロンビアに向かい、さらに米国を訪れる計画をつくりました。この計画に基づき、できるだけ安い航空券を探したところ、世界一周航空券に出会いました。実際に、費用は他の航空券より安かったです。また、ルート変更ができたので、使いやすそうに見えたのですが、実際には、そうではありませんでした。このことに、欧州とコロンビアにいる時に気付きました。
　この出張を開始し、日本を発った後、会社から同僚が米国の西海岸を訪れるので、合流し、面倒を見るようにとの指示があったのです。このため、航空券のルート変更が必要になったので、航空券を発行した航空会社のサービスカウンターに行きました。これが、格闘の始まりです。
