Since I was at university, I firmly believed that I would not need handwriting in the near future. As I expected, word processors and PCs came into the world. They enabled me to need not to handwrite. What I believed has become a reality, and it makes me great.
I was the first to start using a spreadsheet on a PC in the company that I first joined after graduation. I used it to make monthly reports instead of handwriting. It stopped my boss from telling me that my handwritten letters were too messy to read.
The same goes for abacuses. I believed that they would be out of use soon. So, I did not enter an abacus school, which was very popular then. As I expected, calculators were born. They saved me from using the abacus for bookkeeping exams at university.
It is not easy to follow rapid changes in the world. But it is better to jump on anything new.

ボクは、その当時から字もいずれも手書きがなくなると固く信じていました。そして、ワープロが出現し、その後、パソコンが出現してくれたお陰で、手書きをしなくて済むようになりました。信じた通りになったと思うと同時に、手書きが不要になり最高の気分です。
社会人になってからは、月次の集計表を手書きからNECのパソコンには行っていた表計算ソフトへいち早く切り替えました。このお陰で、上司から「字が下手で数字が読めない」と言われなくなりました。
また、そろばんも必要なくなると信じていました。なので、大人気だったそろばん塾にも行きませんでした。そしたら、電卓が誕生しました。大学の簿記の試験は、電卓で受けました。
世の中の変化について行くのは大変ですが、新しいモノには飛び付いた方がいいですね。
