くまさん一行は、西穂高独標から、そのままロープウェイ乗り場に向かいました。そしてくまさん達は、新穂高ロープウェイで、岐阜県側に降りることになりました。このロープウェイは下まで2区間ありますが、第2区間の方は日本で初めて二階建てのロープウェイになっていました。ということで1階と2階に分かれえ乗り込んだくまさん一行。窓からの風景はどちらも変わらないはずですが、どうしても2階の方が見晴らしが良い気がしたくまさん達なのでした。
