Jared’s little boy

Genesis Chp 5

In the history of Enoch, it says Enoch's son Methuselah was born when Enoch was 65 years old. After Methuselah was born, Enoch walked with God for 300 years. Verse 24 says Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him This is a remarkably interesting note, there does not appear to be much of an explanation of what happened to Enoch. The others mentioned in the genealogies each end with, and he died, but not Enoch. We know that everyone from Adam and Eve inherited death because of one man's sin, so what happened to Enoch? This should be the obvious question to any reader. Jews alive during the second temple period and before this were not sidelined by this strange event in the text because they had the book of Enoch for reference. It is not part of old testament canon and not considered to be inspired like the rest of the biblical content, but some of the early church fathers considered it and even quoted from Enoch. New testament writers Peter, Jude, and Paul also referenced ideas from It. Why might you ask? Because they wanted to introduce falsehood into the inspired text? No, because they knew their intended target audience of that time and knew their readers had knowledge about the subject that they were referring to in their letters. Story of Enoch, we get the backstory to explain the part of Genesis chapter six text talking about the sons of God Who took woman and had children with them, their offspring would be called the Nephilim. They were on the earth in those days and afterwards, referring to before and after the flood. How do we know this, in the book of First Samuel before David was king of Israel, he fought a descendant of the Giant clan, Goliath and killed him. Also, the nation of Israel was tasked with eliminating all the remaining giant clans because they were descendants of an impure union Looking back at what we already discussed about what happened in the Garden of Eden and the matter, Enoch was requested specifically to be a messenger between these Rebel sons of God and God himself to plead their case before God on their behalf. Of the silence on the part of the heavenly host, no one had offered any help to save, preserve, or mediate on behalf of Gods creation God would accomplish this through Jesus, but the heavenly host were not privy to the plan. For the people, Paul too had made a similar offer and now presumably we see the actions of Enoch. This time around it is a man (Enoch) making a plea for members of the Heavenly host, I see thru Enoch actions a gesture of love and concern for God's That the scripture says of Enoch, that he walked with God and then God took him . This is also a wonderful picture to us of what it should been like without death being introduced into creation. A person could be moved from this terrestrial existence to the spiritual realm without the need of pain, sickness, and death. For those of you that know or have read ahead and say well does not the bible say its appointed for all people to die and then the judgment Hebrews 9:27, yes it does. There are two people who walked the earth long ago, that are recorded in the scriptures that have not yet experienced death. Enoch is one of those two and in the book of Revelations of John, We are introduced to the two witnesses, two prophets of God that are eventually killed by 'the beast' in a future event and they are dead for three days, and then God breathes the breath of life back in them and they live again. Are one of these prophets Enoch? Dunno, but it sure is interesting.
