先週から、高校1年～3年生はロックダウンの間も登校再開しているので、仕事が始まっていない私が息子の登下校の送迎をしている。バスはずっと運行しているけれど土日ダイヤだし、ステイホームが長すぎて生活リズムがすっかり狂ってしまった我が家、しかもルーティンの通学リズムに戻ったのは二男だけで(長男も夫も、まだまだイレギュラーな時間でうごいているので)なんだか二男一人を「危険な世界へ放つ」ような感覚になってしまって、せめてバスには乗らなくてすめば、という、母の愛（過保護ともいう😅）。

今朝も二男一人を乗せて学校へ。いつもは学校から少し離れたところで降ろしてほしいと言われ（学校周辺で友達に親を見られるのがイヤみたいで）学校のかなり手前のベーカリーで降ろすのだけど、今日は天気が怪しいので学校の駐車場まで車で行くのに同意する二男。
学校への乗り入れ口は2箇所あって、体育館ホール裏側に繋がるセカンドゲートは、車の出入りはあるが歩いて出入りする生徒は少ないので、そちらから乗り入れた。ずっと奥へ進むと体育館ホールの裏側の駐車場に突き当たるので、そこで二男を降ろしてグルっと回ってまた同じゲートから出る。
こちらのゲートから徒歩で登校してくる生徒はほとんどいないのだけど、駐車場には生徒がちらほらいて、送迎の保護者らしき大人が運転席にいる車がほとんどなのだけど、ふと駐車枠に停めてある小さめの車に目をやると、その周りに学校の制服姿の男子3人がゾロゾロ。兄弟って感じではないので、ドライバーの親御さんが何件か周ってあげて近所の友達を一緒に乗せてきたんだろうな、と思ったら車内には誰もいない、、、ということは。
男子3人のうちの誰かが車で通学しているということ。
この国では16歳から自動車免許が取得できるので、高校生も車通学が可能ということなんだけれど、学校の制服姿で運転席からでてくる若者を見ると、やっぱりちょっとギョッとする。
見た目が実年齢より若く（あるいは幼く）見られがちなアジア人に比べ、ヨーロピアンは私から見ると未だにとても大人びて見えるので、私服であれば16歳の高校生なのか18歳以上の大学生や社会人なのかは判別できないけれど、高校の制服姿で、しかも学校の通学に車とは。。。文化の違いとはいえきっといつまでも慣れないような気がする。

Since school reopened during level3 lockdown, I give my sons a ride to/from school every day.
The oldest one only need to go to school for his exam, so his schedule to go to school is quite irregular.
The youngest one has classes as usual, so he goes to/leaves from school everyday at the regular time.
Because I feel it’s not fair for him, the only one in the family to need to do the regular routine, and also not very safe yet to get him take public bus, I drive him to school.
Usually, he asks me to drop him off a little further away from school since he doesn’t like to be witnessed him with his mom, so he doesn't want me to drive too close to school.
Because of the weather today, looked not very nice, he agreed to be dropped at school.
There are two school gates you can go into by car. The second gate connects to a carpark behind the school gym, and not many students coming in on foot from this one, so I drove in to school from there.
There were some cars in the carpark, and I found adults drivers in some of those. I thought I wasn’t the only parent spoiling own kids by giving a ride to school.
Then, I just noticed 3 male students ( in the school uniform) hanging around one small car and no one in that car.
Obviously, one of the three were driving to school. It’s not a strange thing, you can obtain driver’s license whey you reach age 16 here.
We, Asian are relatively seen younger than the real age comparing to Europeans.
If I see young driver coming out from a car in their plain clothes, I wouldn’t know whether they are high school student under age18, or adult.
What shocks me is that the driver with their high school uniform driving to school by their car!
Are they mature enough to have ability to make an instant huge decision by operating something they can even take people’s lives?
But, it’s not illegal here, anyway.
I don’t think I would ever be used to it no matter how long I spend my time living here.
