All right, now how did you get started in the industry?

Um, through Devontae from Jodeci.

We met him at a show at Hampton Coliseum.

They were on a hammer tour, and my group sung for him, and they flew us up there next week, and it was like, yeah, y'all hot.

Yeah, so why don't you tell us about your current single, what's going on with that?

My current single is The Rain and Super Duper Fly, The Rain and I'm Super Duper Fly, and it's from my upcoming album, July 22nd.
今のシングルは『The Rain and Super Duper Fly』で、7月22日にリリースされるアルバムからの曲よ。
Super Duper Fly is the title, and it's just one of them tracks that's like the year 2000.
『Super Duper Fly』がタイトルで、それはまるで2000年のような曲なの。
It's futuristic.
未来的だわ。
I just did a video for it, and it's like an alternative video, so it's like something that you don't see on MTV a lot, hopefully.
それにビデオも撮ったばかりで、オルタナティブなビデオだから、多分MTVではあまり見かけないと思うけど。
That video is fat, by the way, you know what I'm saying?
そのビデオはすごいよね、分かるでしょ？
For the viewers out there that don't know, you will see it on VL Explosion, it's a fat video.

What was it like putting it together?
それをまとめるのはどうだった？
It was wild because I had been trying to get Hype, you know?
ハイプを手に入れようとしてたから大変だったんだよね。
Because a lot of people, Paul is hot, and a lot of people were using him.
だってポールはすごく人気があって、たくさんの人が彼を使っていたから。
So they were saying that Hype was doing movies and he wasn't doing any more videos.
だから、ハイプはもう映画をやってて、ビデオは作らないって言われてたの。
So I was like, oh man.
それで私は「ああ、困った」と思ってたんだ。
So my record label was like, Don't worry, we're going to call Hype, and we're going to get him.
でもレコード会社が「心配しないで、ハイプに連絡して、彼を連れてくるから」と言ってくれたんだ。
They sent the song to Hype, and Hype was like, I love it, I got to do the video.

He was like, Just what direction do you want to go in?

And I was like, I want to do this, I want to do that, and us together, we made it happen.

Hype, don't you have input into making a video?

Yeah, he let me do what I wanted to do.

He was like, he didn't give me direction like, you know, scoot down or do this, or look at the camera this way.

He just was like, do your thing, and that's what I liked about working with him.

He just let me do whatever.

Looking at the video, it looked like it was fun.

I had a big blow-up suit where they took me to the gas station, and they had to pump me up.
大きなふくらんだスーツがあって、ガソリンスタンドに連れて行ってもらって、空気を入れてもらったの。
I'm walking down the street with this big thing on and this crown, and people looking at me like, yo, she's buggin'. They're looking at me like, I mean, you gotta think about you driving down the street and you see somebody walking past in a big plastic suit, and they got these glasses on that's going behind their heads.

You know what, why don't you tell the viewers out there, what were some of the other singles that you appeared on, because you've been on quite a few people's singles, tell us about that.

The appearances I did with Gina Thompson (The Things You Do), 702 (Steelo), New Edition (You Don't Have to Worry), Missy Elliott and Aaliyah (Best Friends), and MC Lyte (Cold Rock a Party) were all memorable experiences for me.

How does it feel, just stepping into the industry, to be so hot right now?

I mean, you're like in heavy demand, everybody's single, how does it feel to be that hot, you know, just stepping in the industry?

I mean, it feels good to see.

A lot of people don't know, it didn't just happen overnight for me.

A lot of people just think they turned on their TV, and here I am on everybody's video.

I've been writing songs for a long time, so I've been around.

It's just that visually, this is like people just starting to see me back to back, but it feels good though.

What are some of the tracks that we can look forward to?

Um, in the upcoming album, I got, well, everything is like futuristic on my album.

And Timbaland, who's the mastermind behind all the songs that I wrote for different people, he did the whole album, produced it.
そして、いろんな人のために書いた曲のすべての裏にいる天才、ティンバランドがアルバム全体をプロデュースした。
I got Brat, Lil' Kim, 702, Jingle Line, Aaliyah, and Busta on my album, and the album is bananas.

If people love the first single, then it's so many more hot songs, it's hotter than the first single.

That was just something to kind of level it out, but it's more stuff, it's just bananas on this album.

I mean, because I want, I mean, like you can just see by the way I dress, I'm just regular, and I want people to see that I got a talent.

I want people to listen and see that there's a talent there, and not be, I don't want to say the wrong thing, but looking at other things.

I just want them to understand that I was blessed, God, it's a God-given talent, and I don't follow.
神からの恵みで才能を授かったことを理解してほしい。私は追随者じゃないの。
I'm not a follow-on, I'm more of a leader, you know?
私はフォロワーじゃなくて、リーダーなの。
And I will definitely try to stay away from like samples and try to just be different from everybody else.
サンプルを使ったり、他の人とは違う感じになるように努力するわ。
Because I think everybody is, the radio is kind of stuck right now, so people are looking for that change, so.
だって、ラジオは今ちょっと立ち往生しているから、変化を求めている人たちがいるんだもん。
All right, so why don't you tell the viewers out there, what are your future plans?

I want to be in a movie, you know, I think everybody want to be in a movie.
映画に出演したいわ。みんな映画に出たいって思ってるでしょ？
I want to be larger than what I am now.
今よりもっと大きくなりたいの。
