先週お伝えした通り、今週からYouTubeの趣向を変えて「洋楽」をネタに動画を作っていきます。新しい試みで、自分でもドキドキしています。

私はボイトレではありません。そんな私が「歌い方の動画を作るなんて・・・」と、最初は自分で自分にダメ出しをしていました。

どうして洋楽の動画を始めようと思ったのか（ボイストレーナーではないのに）

ですが、「英語の発音がネックで、洋楽を気持ちよく歌えない」とおっしゃる方や、「歌詞の意味が今ひとつよく分からないから、感情をこめにくい」とおっしゃる方のお話しをうかがって、

その部分なら、お手伝いはできるよな～♪

と思いました。

洋楽に合わせてリズムをとれば、「カタカナ英語」から早く脱出できる

特に、発音面ではいかに「メロディの流れに乗りつつ、単語を聞き取ってもらえように声を出す」かが大事になります。この「メロディに乗る」ことが、「リエゾン」を体得するのに、実は近道なのではないかと思いました。

リエゾンの説明をすると、「リエゾン」はフランス語で、単語と単語をくっつけて話すことを意味します。英語では「リンキング (linking)」といいます。

日本人の方の多くはリエゾンが身に付いていないため、ネイティブの話す英語のヒアリングが苦手なケースが多いです。そして、ご自身が英語を話してもネイティブに理解されない時があるのも、リエゾンしていなかったため、つまり「カタカナ英語」でしゃべってしまったことが原因である事が多いと思います。

例を挙げましょう。

I'm starting a new series for my YouTube channel.
（これから自分のYouTubeチャンネルで、新しいシリーズを始めます。）

をリエゾンせずにしゃべった場合、かつ「series」と「channel」を日本式に発音してしまったら？

カタカナ英語で発音すると：
アイム・スターティング・ア・ニュー・シリーズ・フォー・マイ・ユーチューブ・チャンネル。

ネイティブが発音すると：
アイム・スターティンガ・ニュー・シーリーズフォーマイ・ユーチュー・ブチャヌル。

アクセントの位置の比較：
●Series: 
ネイティブ）　シーリーズ
カタカナ英語）シリーズ

●Channel:
ネイティブ）　チャヌル
カタカナ英語）チャンネル

洋楽のメロディに乗せて発音していくと、自然に「カタカナ英語」から解放されていけると思うのです♪

動画は２部構成。「前編」で歌詞の意味と発音、「後編」で通して歌ってみる

今回、Juice WRLDのLucid Dreamsで動画を作りました。

歌詞の説明や発音のコツ（RやLの発音をするための唇の形や舌の位置）を説明していると、全部で20分を超えてしまいました。でも、省略するわけにもいかない、という気持ちになり・・・。ということで、動画を２つに分けて

前編：歌詞の意味や発音のコツ
後編：流れで歌う

という形にしてみました。そして、メロディに合わせないと、視聴される方にとっては分かりづらい、という家族からの意見を聞き・・・お恥ずかしながら、後編では歌っています。（お耳触りな点は、予めお詫び申し上げます！）

動画全編を通して、歌詞をつけました

歌うには、当然ですが歌詞も見ることができなくてはいけません。ですから、字幕形式にしたり、画面を分割したり、と工夫してみました。蛇足ですが、編集ソフトの使い方（Filmora、フィモーラ）にもかなり習熟しました。

（なんなら、ストアカで動画編集で講師デビューしようか、な～んて調子になってしまうかもしれません、笑。）
