香研究会 IRIの2018年の歩みを振りかえってみたいと思います。

日本ではインバウンドの文化体験の需要が非常に大きくなり、私も、世界の国々から訪れる旅行者の方々を対象に、英語で数多くの聞香会を行いました。

お香の歴史のお話や聞香会だけでなく、マインドフルネスや内観についても体験していただけるように、オリジナルスタイルにこだわった内容で行っております。

海外からの参加者は、本当に人間的に素晴らしい方ばかりで、いろいろな話題に広がる会話が、なによりも楽しく、充実した豊かな時間を過ごせたことに感謝しています。

毎回、下記のような心のこもったコメントをいただき、うれしく思います。

◎ My experience with Eriyo was one of calmness, serenity, connection and groundedness . All things which can be hard to find in the bustling megacity that is Tokyo. Set in Eriyo's beautiful home full of treasures she has collected from around the world. I came away with an understanding of the history of incense and its uses, having experienced some rare and precious incense's, and a beautiful ceremony which really brought balance between mind and body through the simple art of 'listening' to incense. Thank you!

◎ I highly recommend this unique and very Japanese immersion in fragrance. Eriyo offers a spiritual and intellectually stimulating introduction to her own rendition of the ancient Japanese tradition of incense ceremony. My two hours spent with Eriyo began with a PowerPoint presentation that traces the cultivation of fragrance for spiritual and religious reasons to its roots in Mesopotamia, ancient Egypt and throughout Southeast Asia and China as well as across the long history of Japan. Our attention then turned to experiencing fragrances, as I learned how to appreciate them, focusing on some fragrances that Eriyo herself composed. They were wonderful, and reached deep in my soul. This experience still lingers with me after two weeks, both in the depth of the experience and in the richness of the information about fragrances.

◎Great experience with Eriyo!  She welcomed us in her home which was full of objects related to incense in various cultures. This experience is not only about Japanese incense but also incense culture all other the world.  I really appreciated for example her recipe of Kyphi, an incense from Ancient Egypt. We learned also how to enjoy (more precisely "listen to") incense woods prepared in the traditional Japanese way. I highly recommend this experience which was both interesting and relaxing.

2018年のハイライトは、パリ・グラース・ローマ・バチカン・ジュネーブへの二週間の旅でした。

南仏グラースの「国際香水博物館」に４日間通って、世界の香りの歴史について学びを深めたのですが、最も驚いたのは、欧州の香水文化の源流が古代エジプトの薫香キフィであることを知ったことでした。

また、台湾出張（台北・台中・高雄・日月潭）では、毎日、糸数先生にお世話になりました。素敵な台湾製の香道具を購入できて、大満足の4日間でした。

そして、5月に第2回皇居勤労奉仕を行いました。東京で一番のパワースポットである皇居で、風薫る季節にご奉仕できたことは歓びでした。

新宿柿傳で「聞香会x懐石料理xお香づくり」を２回、風情のある赤坂 料亭 金龍で「聞香会 x 昼食会」を１回行いました。都内に数少ない趣のある日本的な空間はどんどんなくなっていますが、残念ながら、金龍も今はありません。

世界に類をみない新しいプロジェクトとして、梅やダマスクローズなどの生花を使って、発酵・熟成させる「熟香」の創作を開始しました。

乾燥した香材だけを使ってつくるお香とは全く違うパワフルなエネルギーを感じ、祈りをこめると、薫く時に、永遠のいのちを宿していることを実感でき、いつも感動しております。

また、ダマスクローズを使ったパウダー香を創作するようになりました。　いわゆる仏事や法要で使われる塗香とは違って、気分を高揚させる華やかな香りは女性ホルモンを活性化しますので、これからもっと多くの人に体験していただきたいと思っています。

香スペシャリスト養成講座の受講生が増えまして、初級編に加えて、中級編を新たに開講し、上級編を開講するための準備も始めました。
