The ongoing "EM District Project" is a development plan for an area in Bangkok that includes three commercial facilities, The Emporium, The EmQuartier, and The Emsphere, and Benjasiri Park.

The project is developing a futuristic city with an added element of tourism in this area, which has a large number of Japanese residents and is primarily residential and office buildings.

This year, the Emporium has undergone renovations, and has been home to high-brand stores such as LOEWE, RIMOWA, MAX MARA, CHOPARD POP UP, JIMMY CHOO, and other new restaurants, lifestyle, and currency exchange stores.

The Emporium's renovation is not limited to store selection and exterior reworking, but also includes a floor layout that visually attracts the latest trends, which is not unlike a long-established department store in Thailand. A new entrance, previously unavailable, has also been completed on the Benjasiri park side of the building.

With the end of Covid-19 in Thailand, the number of foreign visitors is growing rapidly (27 million tourists projected in 2023, Economic growth 3~4%) and the new "EmSphere" will be completed by the end of this year.

This commercial facility, Emsphere will include Japanese tenants introduced by our Japanese partner, JR West Japan SC Development Co.

It is expected that Japanese companies will further accelerate their business expansion in Thailand from this year to next.

現在進行中の『EM Districtプロジェクト』は、バンコクのエンポリアム、エムクオーティエ、エムスフィアの三つの商業施設と、ベンジャシリ公園を含めた地域の開発計画です。日本人居住者も多く、住宅街とオフィスビルが中心となっているこのエリアにさらに観光の要素を加えた未来都市を開発しています。

今年に入りエンポリアムでは改装が進み「LOEWE」「RIMOWA」「MAX MARA」「CHOPARD POP UP」「JIMMY CHOO」等のハイブランド店から「SAVA」「SOPRACIE」「APEX」「THE KLINIQUE」「KKC」「HAPPENING!」「OH! Rich」などのレストランやライフスタイル、両替所などの新店舗がオープンしています。

エンポリアムの改装は店舗の選定や外装の手直しにとどまらず、最新のトレンドを視覚的に惹きつけるフロア構成など、タイの老舗百貨店らしからぬ工夫がされています。これまでなかった新しい玄関口も公園側に完成しました。

タイではコロナが終息し、外国人の訪問者数も急速に伸びています。年内には新しい『EmSphere (エムスフィア)』が完成します。この商業施設には、日本のパートナー企業であるJR西日本SC開発株式会社様よりご紹介を頂いた日系テナント様も入店される予定です。

今年から来年にかけてさらに日本企業のタイ進出は加速しそうです。
