What is NoCode really about?

Hi there. I'm @chantarobaby.

You can call me "Chantarou" or "Chantarobaby" if you like.
I'd like to write about my adventures with NoCode and the discoveries I've made since then.

Incidentally, the following is the original idea I had before @chantarobaby's adventure.

NoCode has evolved so much that there's no need to bother with programming, right? The world is just too easy!

Now, let's get down to business.

⏩ Let's start "Adventures in NoCode.

Ep.1 Why did you start NoCode?

The answer to this question is quite simple.

I wanted to get out of the phase where I was just a boy with an idea and a dream.

"If you don't have a plot type, you can't talk about it."
"You're too much of a kid to have just an idea."

The world is a tough place, isn't it?

This kind of feedback, like the Sea of Okhotsk, cut into the heart of young @chantarobaby, and I made the decision to climb the "stairs to adulthood".

In other words, I started to chase the butterfly called NoCode, in order to be able to put my "idea" into a "product".

Ep.2 So, how did it go?

As it turns out, in less than two months, I was able to reach a level where I could create an app that integrates Instagram and Messenger, as shown in the YouTube video below.

In case you're wondering, I used a NoCode tool called Glide as my creation tool.

Of course, the time frame of two months is exaggerated. We all tend to be vain, don't we? LOL.

I'm not joking, but I'll tell you something that might be helpful.

1) Watch NoCode YouTuber Shinji's video.
2) Try to create an Instagram clone from scratch by yourself.
3) Ask questions in the Glide Community.
This is how I learned how to make apps.

In fact, this is what the Glide tool says.

Even if you are a beginner, if you have a spreadsheet or something, anyone can create an app in "5 minutes".

I was able to create the app very easily and instantly, just because I said so myself.

Therefore, even if you are a beginner, if you use the existing templates, you can create social networking sites such as Instagram (this time, without any modifications) and shopping sites such as Amazon in "one day".

So, if you are a beginner, I recommend you to go the route of "NoCode → Glide" without getting confused by tools like Adalo or Bubble.

#I'm not really a PR person.
#I guess I have a one-sided love like this.

Ep.3 Trying to climb the stairs of adulthood

The "reality of NoCode" that I've come to see through my "adventure" so far.

Now, the final stage. Let's talk about it briefly.

Seriously, please don't quote this part of the article and disrespect it on Twitter.
It's like hitting a kid who made a painting in kindergarten with the logic of "perspective" or "color".

Now, let's begin.

If NoCode has evolved this much, there's no need to bother with programming, is there? The world is too easy!

I'm sure everyone has thought this at some point.
"What a baby I was in the past..."

I've thought that too.
"The world is easy?" "Your head is freezing.

In the beginning, before I started learning NoCode, @chantarobaby's brain was in an extra-large "flower garden" state.

A phrase from Haruki Murakami, which I read in my youth, comes to mind.

In the novel, the cab driver said

In the novel, the taxi driver said, "Remember one thing: everything is not what it seems.

It is true that NoCode tools such as Glide, Adalo, bubble, etc. are evolving at a remarkable speed every day, and thus the "range of creation" is also expanding.

That's why, at first glance, when you look at the templates and basic functions, you may feel like you can create anything. LOL.

But that's not the reality of things.

"I don't care how fast it is, the template is good enough.
"I don't care about the details of the UI.
"I don't care about processing speed.

If you don't care about "practical issues", such as "I don't care about detailed UI", then the current NoCode tool can meet your needs.

However, if you are serious about launching your product as a service, not as a toy, then you have to consider the "practical issues".

Ep.4 The boy's conclusion.

The "means" should be determined by calculating backwards from the "ends".
Don't forget that. This "universal truth" is undoubtedly applicable to the case in question.

In other words, in a brain-dead state.

In other words, the time has not yet come when it is okay to make decisions like, "It's too much trouble to code," and "NoCode is fine.

That's why

What I, @chanatarobaby, want to tell you is

Consider the trade-off between "easy" and "constrained.

The current NoCode does not have enough "ability" to resolve the above trade-off relationship.

In fact, I'm adding CSS and HTML codes in my application to get over this "wall".

Today's read aloud passage

Conclusion, "means" should be determined by working backwards from "ends".
In a brain-dead state, don't make decisions like "programming is too much trouble" → "NoCode, OK".
