Trump is right…But it is a good argument.Japan should at least say, "Shame on you.

The following is from Masayuki Takayama's column in the latter part of the Shukan Shincho, released today.
This article also proves that he is the one and only journalist in the postwar world.
It is a must-read not only for the Japanese people but for people worldwide.

Trump is right.
F. Roosevelt (FDR) dragged Japan into the war with considerable force in the last war.
So, the U.S. entered the war in the clear, helped Britain and France, and beat Germany.
He had the same plan as in World War I.
So what would Japan do now that it had used the war as an excuse to enter the war?
FDR said, "Three months is all we need."
For this purpose, he had Churchill send out the battleship Prince of Wales, which entered Singapore on December 2, just before the war started.
At the same time, a 108-vehicle M3 tank corps was sent from the U.S. mainland to MacArthur in the Philippines.
Among the tank crew was Lester Tenney, a professor at Arizona State University who later lied about being forced to walk on Bataan and tortured.
He witnessed the destruction of 130 U.S. war bombers at Clark Field, where he was deployed on the first day of the war.
FDR's plan was for 150,000 US and Ratio troops to crush the landing Japanese forces, for the Prince of Wales to slaughter every Japanese ship heading for Malaya, and for the "Flying Fortress," B17s to bomb and crush the critical areas of the Japanese mainland in the air to bring about their surrender.
He had read that it would take "three months" to reach this point.
But the reality was different.
The U.S. Pacific Fleet was hit at Pearl Harbor, the Prince of Wales sank two days later, and the U.S.-Philippine forces were defeated in only two days and ran away to Bataan.
FDR's miscalculation was that MacArthur was incompetent and underestimated the Japanese military.
It was believed that the Japanese could not fly airplanes well and would not go into the woods because they were haunted.
However, they had the most potent Zero fighter and quickly took down the B17, which even German fighter planes could not take down.
They were not afraid of the dense jungles of Malaya, but instead, they flew through them at a speed of 20 kilometers per day and dropped them as far as Singapore.
The Japanese army was still going strong even after three months, according to FDR, driving out the whites from the colonies in Asia, such as the Dutch East Indies and British Burma, and giving the people the spirit of independence.
After the war, the people of the Dutch East Indies, who were more docile than cats, fought valiantly against the returning Dutch for four years to gain their independence.
When Burma also gained independence from the British, it stopped using English, left-hand traffic, and tea, and Japanese was taught instead at the University of Foreign Languages.
After losing the Dutch seal, the only source of income for the Dutch was decorative windows.
The Netherlands was falling apart before one could see it.
De Gaulle launched a campaign to reoccupy the country, saying, "French Indochina is necessary to restore the glorious France."
However, the Vietnamese resisted and won the battle of Dien Bien Phu, driving out the French.
De Gaulle was furious.
FDR has angered Japan, and we have lost our colonies as a result.
Britain and the Netherlands nodded.
The U.S. issued the Marshall Plan, a $10 billion reconstruction fund to make amends.
The plan was named after George Marshall, who promoted the failed war against Japan.
European countries also formed mutual aid societies to help each other's poor.
It is what is now the European Union.
FDR was soft on the Soviet Union and gave away all Eastern Europe.
As a result, the communist bloc was closing in on the eaves of the West.
The poor EU has no extra military spending.
Again, the U.S. established NATO to clean up FDR's mess and continued to provide money for Europe's defense.
Still, the frustration of European nations who could not forget their old prosperity was stagnant.
Jean-Pierre Lehmann spoke for them.
"We were taken prisoner and used by the Yellows; we lost our colonies.
The U.S. still dropped the atomic bombs to relieve their grief, but we have not repaid Japan for anything."
The Japanese have no idea that they are so resented.
They could not understand why the French female prime minister swore to "trample the yellow ants (Japanese)," and the Dutch queen demanded reparations every time she visited Japan.
Trump told the useless Europeans who still cling to the U.S., "Cut your own throat on NATO. We won't help you if you are attacked."
But it is a good argument.
Japan should at least say, "Shame on you.
