　日本語の俳句にルールがあるように、英語俳句にもルールがあります。

文頭であっても大文字は用いず、文末にピリオドを打たない。

３行で書くこと

日本語俳句は１行で書きますが、英語俳句は３行で書きます。

一句の中に切れ字を入れること

切れ字とは、日本語俳句に見られる、感動や詠嘆を表す「かな」や「けり」に相当するもので、英語俳句では行末に ――（ダッシュ）や : （コロン）を置いて感動の余韻を表します

できるだけ "I" を使わない

be 動詞、冠詞、前置詞は省略してよい

時制は現在形を用いる

英語俳句では、「いま、目の前にある情景」を「一枚の写真で切り取った」ような表現を重視します。ゆえに動詞は未来や過去ではなく、現在形を使います。

正確な文法に必ずしもこだわらなくてよい
