Mar'24 TRAVELERS Hub TIMES BEPPU

What's TRAVELERS Hub TIMES BEPPU?

TRAVELERS Hub TIMES BEPPU will provide you with monthly highlights of our concierges’ daily activities at TRAVELERS Hub (commonly known as “Tora-Hab”) and WANDER COMPASS (commonly known as “One-Con”), the tourist information center brands operated by Huber!

Let me introduce myself! I’m Pami from WANDER COMPASS BEPPU! I’m a graduate school student at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. I love traveling and cooking! I believe the best way to discover a place and its people is through the food! Have you already tried “Tori-ten”? It’s the soul food of Oita!

This month we have many episodes from all over the country 😊
Now let's take a look at what happened in March! HERE WE GO!

An exciting month | Beppu

This month WANDER COMPASS BEPPU (a.k.a One-Con Beppu), had a lot of Japanese and overseas visitors, as the three-day holiday weekend in Japan coincided with the Chinese Lunar New Year! ✨

Thank you for your hard work interns!

Posing for a picture at the final project presentation called "BEPPU WAWO", the name they proposed for their project.

Three university students who interned at OneCon Beppu from September 2023 to February 2024 have successfully completed their internship program😌.

They were given a very open-ended mission: "To propose a new experience for tourists visiting Japan". Through trial and error, they came up with a tour plan called "BEPPU WAWO" that includes visiting Beppu's local hot springs while immersing into the local hot spring culture ✨

The stories of their struggles will be published on the “Beppu Deep World”' page🙌 (*The stories of the three interns from the 2023 academic calendar have already been posted!)

As a fellow university student, I would like to keep a close eye on the interns future activities❤️‍🔥

Postcard sales have started!

Our original postcards are displayed on the wall to promote postcard sales!
Since February, WANDER COMPASS BEPPU has started selling postcards made by our interns!  We have original postcards with photos of Beppu hot springs, Beppu station at dawn, monkeys at Mt. Takasaki, and a postcard with the photo of Kumahachi Aburaya, Beppu’s own “father of tourism” ✨

The postcards have a nostalgic feeling, and as a native of Oita, they make my heart flutter! ❤️‍🔥

Not only that, but we have also started a "custom-made postcard" service, an initiative of our interns that allows you to turn your own photos into postcards 😌
Our interns are very creative!

The first postcards sold were purchased by a grandfather from Canada! He bought a postcard with a picture of a monkey on Mt. Takasaki, and one of Beppu’s hot springs.

He said he likes to buy postcards from his travels and keep them as memories. We hope that whenever he looks at these postcards, it will bring back memories of Beppu and come back again ❣️

The special moment when a guest purchased our customized postcards for the first time

Also, a guest from Thailand, who was very fond of our postcards, decided to buy one after seeing a postcard with a photo of Kumahachi Aburaya! After purchasing the postcard, she went back to her hotel, wrote a note on the postcard, and sent it overseas. It's a great idea to send postcards from your travels to your family and friends abroad!

The glass door has been transformed into a LUUP PR corner 🛴💨

WANDER COMPASS BEPPU is stepping up its promotion of the LUUP e-scooter! Posters of LUUP tours and Google Map QR codes for moving around Beppu City on a LUUP are also posted at the store. We hope all tourists visiting Beppu will enjoy this new option of sightseeing with LUUP!

These were highlights of February from the various information centers 💌
In February, we were also able to show many local guests around, and our staff had a lot of wonderful interactions with them ✨

We are open for business in March, the season of encounters and partings, so if you happen to pass by the information desk, please stop by 💕

Our concierges are looking forward to meeting you 💕

What is the TRAVELERS Hub?
A place that serves as a hub for travel information and the local community, run by people who love to travel. As a base for "building bridges between the community and visitors," the concierges aim to provide visitors with information about their favorite local spots and other tourist information.
