Miks Zvejnieks (24 LAT), Inline-Alpine world champion and top skier, came to Japan to instruct Inline Alpine. In this series, I would like to introduce the practice contents and his theory. Miks is the only player in the world who is in the top category of both competitions, following his brother Kristaps. A rare entity that really understands both skiing and inline alpine.

・Euro champion and World champion in Inline-Alpine

He consistently ranks as one of the top players in the Inline-Alpine World Cup.

・He won the World Roller Games in Barcelona, the biggest title of Inline-Alpine competition.

・He won the European Championship in Villablino, the most exciting race of Inline-Alpine competition.

・Top alpine skier

Active in the Universiade where top Japanese players also participate（You can see his result with searching "Miks")

7th place in combined!

Very good 1st run but 2nd DNF.

He also join the world cup and  the world championships. (37th in the world championships)

背景

・His special skiing family

Second son of Latvian family "Zvejnieks". His older brother was also world champion of Inline-Alpine and Top skier: join three Olympic games and some world cups (he got 24th in Slalom!). His younger brother also joins the world cup of Inline-Alpine and representative of the Universiade. 

・The race at the indoor ski area in Latvia

In Latvia, alpine skiing is not so a major sport and there is no big ski resort. Basically he travels to different countries and train, like a skier in the around Tokyo of Japan.

Conquer the domestic tournament with brothers.

・Training Inline-Alpine since childhood

He has done inline skating training once or twice a week since childhood.

・Alpine ski training when he was high school students

He grew up and active in the FIS race.

・Inline-Alpine training with his brother and his team

It is not usually but they train on the road with permission.

He has announced the retirement of inline alpine players from this season, and the inline alpine is dedicated to coaching, and as a player, he focus on alpine skiing. Inline Alpine player retirement is sad, but as an Alpine Ski player, We would like to expect further success in the future!
