Two weeks ago I met a woman at a meet-up in Osaka.
（2週間前大阪のミートアップである女性と出会いました）

She is a little younger than me, but looked older than she actually is.
（私より少し年下の方でしたが、実際より上に見えました）

It was maybe because she looked more matured than her actual age.
（それは多分その方が実年齢よりも成熟して見えたからだと思います）

From the way she mingled with the other participants, I thought that she was friendly, humble, intelligent and attentive.
（他の参加者の方たちと交流する様子から、その方はフレンドリーで謙虚、知性的で気遣いもできる方だと思いました）

I learned that she hosts the event at the same cafe every week.
（その方は同じカフェで毎週そのイベントをされていると知りました）

Because it was such a fun event, I thought I wanted to join it again.
（とても楽しかったので、また参加してみたいと思いました）

After the event, I asked her if she had a LINE account and we became friends on the app.
（イベントの後で、その方にラインをされているか、ラインで友達になれないかたずねました）

She gave me a message asking if I was interested in a business event that is going to be held in Osaka in April.
（その方から、4月に大阪で開催されるビジネスイベントに興味ありませんか、というメッセージをいただきました）

At the event, 100 people who are doing their own business are attending.
（そのイベントでは、自分でビジネスをされている方が100人参加されるそうです）

The highlight of the event is that 30 people are given an opportunity to give a one-minute speech in front of everyone else.
（そのイベントの目玉は、30人の方が他の方の前で1分間のスピーチをする機会を与えられることです）

On the application form, there were several boxes to put checks in.
（申し込みフォームにはいくつかチェックを入れる箇所がありました）

It was quite easy to put checks in those boxes.
（チェックを入れていくのは割と簡単でした）

However, there was only one box where I had to stop and think for a while.（しかし、1か所だけ少し考えないといけないところがありました）

What the box was asking was simple,
（その項目の質問はシンプルでした）

"Would you like to give a one-minute speech? The 30 people are selected on a first-come-first-served basis."
（1分間スピーチ希望しますか？30人先着順となんります）

There was a part of me who was thinking like,
（こういう風に考えている自分がいました）

"It would be nerve-racking and challenging. What if I failed? I don't want to do that."
（緊張するだろうし、ハードだな。もしミスったら？やりたくないな）

There was another part of me who was thinking like,
（もう一人、こんな自分もいました）

"Hey, this will be such a wonderful opportunity. You can let a lot of people know who Kazuaki Kaneda is. Don't let it slip. Don't be scared. It's not like you're going to die. You still have one month and a half to be prepared. Just go for it."
（こんないい機会はない。たくさんの人に自分を知ってもらえる。このチャンス逃すな。怖がるな。死ぬわけじゃないんだから。まだ1カ月半準備する時間もある。飛び込め）

After giving it some thoughts, I decided to put a check in the box.
（少し考えた後、その項目にチェックを入れました）

Once I did it, all the negative thoughts blew away.
（チェックを入れたら、ネガティブな考えはなくなりました）

I'm looking forward to the day.
（その日が楽しみです）
