Nadagogo Tour

Starting a sake tour in Nada region has been one of the goals I set for myself this year.
（灘で日本酒ツアーを始めるのは今年の目標の1つでした）

It finally became a reality the other day.
（ついに先日実現しました）

I guided a lovely couple from the Netherlands, who are currently living in London.
（オランダ出身ロンドン在住の素敵なご夫婦をご案内しました）

First, we made a brief stop at Izumi sake brewery.
（まずは、泉酒造さんへ）

The staff member was kind enough to serve us two different styles of sake.（スタッフさんが親切にも2種類飲ませてくださいました）

Next, we went to another brewery called Yasufuku Matashiro Shoten.
（次に、別の酒蔵、安福又四郎商店さんに行きました）

The shop clerk was very friendly and kind enough to let us taste as many as four different versions of their signature brand.
（スタッフの方はとてもフレンドリーで代表銘柄 "大黒正宗" の4つのバージョンを飲ませてくださいました）

She spoke English too, we enjoyed having a conversation for a while until 10 minutes before our lunch time at the next spot
（その方も英語が堪能だったので、次の場所でのランチの時間10分前まで、しばらく会話を楽しみました）

The next stop was Kobeshushinkan.
（次に行ったのは神戸酒心館さんです）

They're famous for their signature sake "Fukuju".
（代表銘柄 "福寿" で有名です）

Junmai Ginjo Fukuju was awarded the gold prize at International SAKE Challenge in 2017 and in the same year, it is served at the Nobel prize banquet, which established their brand internationally.
（純米吟醸福寿は2017年に金賞をいただいたお酒で、同年にノーベル賞でも提供され、国際的にもその名を確立されました）

The brewery has a nice restaurant within the premises and we enjoyed having lunch there.
（敷地内に素敵なレストランがあり、私たちはそこで昼食をとりました）

They have three different lunch courses and we each ordered a different course so that we could share the food.
（3つのランチセットがあり、私たちはシェアできるように一人ずつ違うセットを頼みました）

Of course we ordered sake too!
（もちろん日本酒もたのみました）

We still had time after lunch, so we stopped by their retail store and tasted some sake.
（ランチの後、まだ時間があったのでお店にも立ち寄り試飲をしました）

Before leaving the shop, I bought them a special sake notebooks called "御酒印帳 -goshuincho-"
（そこのお店で私はお2人に御酒印帳という特別な日本酒ノートをプレゼントしました）

"Goshuincho" is normally written this way, 御朱印帳 -goshuincho- and it's kind of a special notebook designed to collect red ink stamps at shrines or temples.
（"ごしゅいんちょう" は通常はこのように、"御朱印帳"と書きます。神社やお寺で朱印を集めるために作られた特別なノートのようなものです）

It's a wordplay.
（いわば言葉遊びのようなものです）

Both "御酒印帳 -goshuincho-" and 御朱印帳 -goshuincho- are pronounced exactly the same.
（御酒印帳と御朱印帳は発音は同じです）

The only difference is how "shu" part is written.
（唯一の違いは "しゅ" の部分の書き方です）

While 朱-shu-(it means red ink) is used for 御朱印帳 -goshuincho-, you notice that 酒-shu-(it means sake) is used for 御酒印帳 -goshuincho-.
（御朱印帳では、赤色を意味する "朱" が使われるのに対して、御酒印帳 のほうでは、日本酒を意味する "酒" が使われていることにお気づきでしょう）

"御酒印帳 -goshuincho-" is kind of a special notebook designed to collect sake labels (not red ink stamps) at sake breweries (not at shrines or temples).（御酒印帳は、神社やお寺ではなく酒蔵で、朱印ではなく日本酒のラベルを集めるために作られた特別なノートのようなものです）

I knew that there are quite a lot breweries in Nada region that provide this service.
（多くの灘の酒蔵がこのサービスをしていることを知っていました）

I thought having my guests create their own sake notebooks would be one of the greatest memories for them during their stay in Japan.
（オリジナルの日本酒ノートを作る体験をしてもらうことは、私のゲストにとって日本滞在中の素晴らしい思いでの１つになると思いました）

We still had one more brewery to go, which is another famous brewery called Sawanotsuru.
（私たちにはもう一つ行くところがありました。沢の鶴さんです）

The brewery has such an amazing museum which displays so many tools in a very organized way.
（沢の鶴さんには、沢山の道具をとても見やすく展示している素晴らしいミュージアムがあります）

After looking around the museum, we tasted two sake which are completely different from each other.
（ミュージアムを見た後は、全く違う2種類のお酒をテイスティングしました）

The shop clerk lent us a glue so that my guests could glue two labels on "御酒印帳 -goshuincho-". (One is from Kobeshusinkan and the other is from Sawanotsuru.)（店員さんがのりを貸してくださり、お2人は神戸酒心館さんのラベルと沢の鶴さんのラベルを御酒印帳に貼ることができました）

Leaving Nada, we headed to the final destination, which is my hometown, Himeji.
（灘をあとにし、最終目的地、私のホームタウンである姫路に向かいました）

We enjoyed having sake with delicious local food at three different places.（私たちは日本酒と地元の食べ物を3か所で楽しみました）

Overall, we enjoyed exploring 4 breweries and drinking as many as 22 types of sake!
（総括すると、私たちは4つの酒蔵をまわり、22種類もの日本酒を飲みました！）

I was so happy to see them enjoy the experience in Nada and Himeji.
（お2人が灘と姫路での体験を楽しんでくれてとても嬉しかったです）

I feel so fortunate to have had them as my guests.
（お2人をゲストとに持てたことを非常に幸運に思います）

It was such a wonderful day which I'll cherish for the rest of my life.
（これから先も大切にしたい、とても素晴らしい日となりました）
