Vol.24: Moments | 瞬間
ここはいま九時三十分。なにもかもが本来の場所に収まり礼儀正しく和している。谷には小川が小川として流れる。小道の姿の小道が永遠から永遠へ続く。森に見える森が永久に繁る。見渡す限りここを支配しているのはこの瞬間。それはいつまでも続くように招かれた地上の瞬間のひとつ。

何をもって美しいと思うかは人によってそれぞれだ。美しいとはどいうことだろう。そんな問いに行きつくが、それもなかなか難しい。そうした話を通り越してこんな問いかけをされて少し戸惑った。
「世界は美しいと思うか」
正直、世界が美しいかどうかは、わたしにはわからない。そうかもしれないし、そうでないかもしれない。けれども「世界には美しい瞬間がある」という実感はある。教えてくれたのは家族やかけがえのない友人たちだ。
何をもって美しいと思うかの言語化はやはり難しい。そこでわたしは、私にとっての「美しい瞬間」を写真という形で友人たちと分かち合いたいと思っている。
写真の力を借りる形ではあるけれど、ある意味で不定期に届くわたしからの手紙のようなものだと思ってもらえたらいい。そういえばある作曲家が次のようなことを言っていた（ように記憶している）。
「美しい曲はない。美しい瞬間が連続しているだけだ。」
この言葉を類推し、構造をひっくり返してみればこんなことが言える。
「一日を美しい瞬間で満たした時、世界は美しいと言える。」
だとすれば、わたしたちは世界の美やその在り方に干渉ができる。特別な何かを生み出す必要はない。静かに片隅に暮らしながらでも、世界の美しさに加担できる。そんな可能性が横たわっている。

It's 9:30 here now. Everything is in its proper place and is polite and harmonious. Streams flow as streams in the valleys. A path in the shape of a course continues from eternity to eternity. A forest that looks like a forest will grow forever. This moment dominates as far as the eye can see. It was one of those earthly moments that were invited to last forever.

What is considered beautiful depends on the person. The question of whether something is beautiful is also tricky to answer. The following question was posed to me as we passed over such a conversation.
“Do you think the world is beautiful?”
It is very rough and elusive. I don't know whether the world is beautiful or not. Maybe it is, perhaps it isn't. But there are moments of beauty in the world. My family and invaluable friends have taught me this.
It is still difficult to verbalize what I consider beautiful. Therefore, I would like to share my beautiful moments with my friends in the form of photographs. In a way, it is an irregular letter from me.
Anyway, composer once said:（If I remember correctly.)
'There are no beautiful songs but the sequence of beautiful moments."
We can take this statement by analogy and turn the structure upside down. For example, if we turn this statement upside down by analogy, we can say:
'The world is beautiful when it is filled with beautiful moments throughout the day.'
If this is the case, then we can interfere with the beauty of the world and the way it is. There is no need to create anything special. Even if you live quietly in a corner, you can be complicit in the beauty of the world. How does that sound?
