"Dionne, a feminine name with Greek roots, derives from Dion. Admirers of Greek mythology may identify Dione as Zeus's consort and Aphrodite's parent. While we were fond of names such as Diane, we sought a name that exuded a more ancient, elegant aura, leading us to choose Dionne for this vessel."

She was built in Kurinoura shipyard. When she was delivered in 2018, she was one of only a few vessels fitted with a scrubber from newbuilding.
