Today, I'm introducing Ms. Gunning, who joined Lily MedTech in its early days to protect our research outcomes as an IP professional. Through this interview, you may find how her job changed in accordance with the growth of Lily MedTech. 

- Could you tell me about your roll at Lily MedTech?

Everything related to intellectual property from building strategy, research, patent application, legal work, and so on. 

- Could you tell me about your background and reasons why you joined Lily MedTech?

Prior to joining Lily MedTech, I worked for a semiconductor R&D  startup company and was responsible for IP. Before that, I worked for a patent firm. I wanted to expand my capability through experiencing wide range of IP related work at a manufacturing company, and found Lily MedTech.  

- What are your motivations and challenges at Lily MedTech?

I experienced acquiring patent rights from applicant viewpoint at the semiconductor R&D company and from administrative viewpoint at patent firm. 
At Lily MedTech, from patent user viewpoint, I want to establish IP environment as a tool of business strategy through making IP strategy to execution. 

- How do you find Lily MedTech?

I work as exactly what I imagined! 
This is the place where I can think, act, and grow! 
Of course results are required, I can work and learn everyday through working with lots of supports from experienced / knowledgeable colleagues and professional supporters outside of the company. 

- Could you tell me a little bit about your personal life? 

I like kitchen work very much, and I make soaps and cultivate natural yeast. I want to continue tennis and yoga.

It is very impressive to see her working surrounded by a huge number of Japanese and English documents. She attends many meetings with R&D team and it is not too much to say that she knows every latest R&D information within Lily MedTech! She uses lots of professional supporters and execute her roll to protect our intellectual properties! 

It seems very challenging but rewarding as well!
