■「象　ーカタドル」

作品「象　ーカタドル」シリーズのモチーフ「象」は、動物のゾウをかたどった象形文字である。
古代の人はそのあまりの大きさからゾウを「カタチ」の象徴とし、「カタドル」という言葉にこの文字をあてた。人々が同じモノやコトを見た時、一つとして同じカタドリは存在せず、自分のカタドリも刻々と変化する。私は一つ一つの漢字に憑依し筆をはしらせる。

◇ work statement『Symbolize』
This character, which is the motif of these series works, is a "Kanji" character that means "elephant", and is a hieroglyph in the shape of an animal elephant.  Because of its enormous size, ancient people regarded the elephant as a symbol of 'shape' and expressed the word 'shape' with this character.  Even if people see the same thing or appearance, they will never take the same shape、Also my shape changes from moment to moment.  I haunt each "Kanji" and move my brush.
