Today, I'll write about dyeing fabric.
All the images in the heading are of fabrics I dyed. Although they may look different in texture, they are all 100% cotton.

There are many different types of fabric, including natural fibers such as cotton and silk, and synthetic fibers such as polyester.
There are also many different types of dyes available to suit each type of fabric.

In Japan, where I live, there have long been a variety of dyeing techniques, such as tie-dyeing and yuzen-dyeing.
Some are unique to Japan, while others have been introduced from abroad.

Each technique has its own characteristics, and each one excels in a different form of expression. I feel extremely blessed to be able to continue my artistic activities in the present day, as I can make full use of the knowledge and techniques that have been cultivated since ancient times and pursue my own form of expression.

The world of dyeing is so profoundly deep that I want to continue learning.
I also want to become more fluent in English so that I can share information about traditional Japanese dyeing techniques while also actively learning about foreign cultures.

I would like to work to increase the number of people who are interested in the field of dyeing.

もうすぐゴールデンウィークですね。
皆さん、楽しい時間を過ごしてください！

今日は布を染色することについて書きます。
見出しの画像はすべて私が染色した布です。見た目は質感が異なりますが、すべて綿100％なんです。

布には綿や絹などの天然繊維、ポリエステルなどの合成繊維など、さまざまな種類があります。
また、布の種類に合う染料もさまざまな種類があります。

私が住んでいる日本には、絞り染めや友禅染めなど、古くからさまざまな染色技法があります。
日本独自のものもあれば、海外から伝わったものもあります。

それぞれの技法に特徴があり、それぞれに優れた表現方法があります。
古来から培われてきた知識や技術を駆使し、自分なりの表現を追求できる現代において、芸術活動を続けられることは非常に恵まれていると感じています。染色の世界は奥が深いので、これからも学び続けていきたいです。
また、英語をもっと話せるようになって、日本の伝統的な染色技術を伝えながら、海外の文化も積極的に学んでいきたいです。

染色に興味を持ってくれる人が増えるように活動していきたいです。
