The new business year has begun and fatigue is setting in. Recently, when I feel like I might fall back asleep in the morning, I turn on some upbeat music to wake myself up and get active.

Today I'd like to look back on why I decided to keep an English diary.

As I entered 2024 and wanted to start something new and continue, I began keeping an English diary for three main reasons.

1️⃣I wanted to learn something new every day efficiently.
I am greedy. I want to learn English and keep a diary, but I also want to do many other things.
Keeping a diary in English allows you to record the things that inspire you and make you think about your daily life while building your vocabulary.

ｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰ2️⃣I thought it seemed easier to continue than keeping a diary on paper such as a notebook.

I have a habit of taking notes. And I often lose them. I have kept paper diaries several times, but I gave up after three days.
I thought that by keeping a diary in a note app, I would be able to keep updating one diary little by little.

ｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰｰ3️⃣ I felt that in order to incorporate English conversation into my daily life, I first needed to increase my vocabulary.

In 2024, my base of operations became the center of a tourist destination.
I have had the opportunity to speak to tourists in English, and have also made friends from overseas.
Because of this experience, I began to have a strong desire to be able to communicate smoothly in English.
Because I often can't think of words on the spot, I felt that the first thing I needed to do was to increase my vocabulary, and I came up with the idea of ​​keeping a daily record in English.

From now on I would like to continue to record here at my own pace, enjoying the experience, focusing on events that move me in my daily life and the things I have created.

新年度が始まり、疲れが溜まってきています。
最近は朝寝坊しそうな時は、明るい音楽をかけて目を覚まし、活動的に過ごしています。

今日は私が英語日記をつけようと思ったきっかけを振り返ってみたいと思います。

2024年を迎え、何か新しいことを始めて続けたいと思い、主に3つの理由から英語の日記をつけ始めました。

1️⃣ 毎日効率的に新しいことを学びたいと思ったから

私は欲張りです。英語を勉強して日記をつけたいですが、他にもいろいろなことをしたいのです。
英語で日記をつけると、語彙を増やしながら、インスピレーションを受けたり、日々の生活について考えさせられることを記録することができると考えました。

2️⃣ ノートなどの紙に日記をつけるよりも続けやすそうだと思ったから

私はメモを取る癖があるのですが、よく失くしてしまいます。紙の日記帳を何度かつけていたのですが、3日でやめてしまいました。noteアプリで日記をつければ、1冊の日記帳を少しずつ更新していけると思いました。

3️⃣ 日常生活に英会話を取り入れるためには、まず語彙を増やす必要があると感じたから

2024年、私の拠点が観光地の中心地になりました。観光客と英語で話す機会があり、海外の友達もできました。
このことから、英語でスムーズにコミュニケーションが取れるようになりたいという強い思いを持つようになりました。
その場で言葉が思い浮かばないことも多いので、まずは語彙力を増やす必要があると感じ、英語で日々の記録をつけることを思いつきました。

今後も日々の生活の中で感動した出来事や、自分が作ったものを中心に、楽しみながら自分のペースで記録を続けていきたいと思います。
