NAMBA SHOUTEN is an online shop that mainly deals in Japanese vintage items from the good old days, such as noragi and Japanese fabric.

I'm the only one running it. I am doing everything from purchase to sales, shipping, and SNS operation by myself.

そもそも野良着とは？ | What is Noragi?

野良着とは、簡単に言うと田畑や山野での野良仕事の際に着用されていた日本固有の労働着（ワークウェア）です。

農村をメインに着用され、壊れたら直しを繰り返し、彼らの日常には欠かせない存在でした。

戦後、日本国内に洋服が普及したことや化学繊維の登場もあり、徐々に姿を消し、昭和中期頃になると、各家庭で仕立てられることは、ほぼなくなりました。

野良着はこれまで愛好家の方を除き、埋もれた存在でした。

しかし、一部の国際的ミュージシャンが着用したことや、ハイブランドやショップから野良着等から着用を得たアイテムがリリースされ、少しずつ評価が上がっているアイテムです。

Noragi is, simply put, workwear unique to Japan that was worn during farm work.

It was worn mainly in farming villages, and when it broke it was repaired repeatedly, making it an indispensable part of their daily lives.

After the war, with the spread of Western-style clothes in Japan and the advent of synthetic fibers, it gradually disappeared, and by the middle of the Showa era, it was almost impossible to make it at home.

Noragi has been a hidden existence until now, except for enthusiasts.

However, some international musicians have worn it, and high brands and shops have released items worn by noragi, etc., and it is an item that is gradually gaining popularity.

私の大きな願い | Big wish

アメリカ古着が日本に根付き、独特の進化（深化）を遂げているよう、野良着等のジャパンヴィンテージにも大きな可能性があります。

野良着って着てもかっこいいんです。

そして、周りの人と被ることなんて絶対ありません。

なぜ、誰も着ていないかというと、誰も知らないからなんです。

現在は極めてニッチな存在ですが、これを

「多くの方に知っていただき、共に楽しんでいきたい」

これが私の大きな願いの一つです。

Just as American second-hand clothing has taken root in Japan and has undergone a unique evolution (deepening), there is great potential for japan vintage such as noragi.

It's cool to wear noragi.

And there is absolutely nothing to wear with people around you.

The reason why no one wears it is because no one knows.

Although it is currently an extremely niche existence,

"I want many people to know about it and enjoy it together."

This is one of my big wishes.

襤褸が伝えてくれるもの | What boro tells us

こちらは、明治後期～大正時代頃の麻の着物。

薄手の麻のためか、経年により破れが生じ、布や刺し子により、補強されています。

This is a hemp kimono from the late Meiji to Taisho eras.

Perhaps because it is thin hemp, it is torn over time and is reinforced with cloth and sashiko.

物資が少なく、直しと補強を繰り返す以外、着る物がない、当時ゆえの貴重なディテール。

もう、これらのディテールはアートですし、後世に残すべき資料としての価値があります。

A valuable detail for those times, when supplies were scarce and there was nothing to wear other than repeated repairs and reinforcements.

Already, these details are art, and they have value as materials that should be preserved for future generations.

「小豆3粒包める布は捨てるな」と言う先人のお言葉。

明治から昭和初期当時、綿花や布類は非常に高価な物で、庶民の暮らしにとって大変な貴重品でした。

特に貧しく、寒さの厳しい東北地方ではその傾向が更に顕著で、前出の言葉があったほどでした。

当時は、その布を使って直したり、集めて何か作ったり襤褸は、究極のエコ。

今で言うSDGsかもしれません。

From the Meiji era to the early Showa era, cotton and cloth were very expensive and very valuable for the lives of ordinary people.

This tendency was even more pronounced in the Tohoku region, which is poor and severely cold.

At that time, BORO was the ultimate eco-friendliness.

It may be the SDGs that we say now.

事業主ですので、食べていくため販売商品のご紹介がメインです。

他にその時々、興味のある事や思った事、自由に書いていきたいと思っています。
