Hello. I’m Nami Koniko, who is a Yamaguchi Prefectural University. I’m an intern of CBB in Cambodia to teach Japanese language and sometimes English. Nice to meet you.

【住み込みスタッフとの生活】
以前にも何度か触れたかもしれませんが、私は現在、５人の日本人インターン生、カンボジア人の英語教師、そして住み込みスタッフと呼ばれる3人の子供達と共に生活しています。

住み込みスタッフとは、その名の通り、一緒に住んでいるスタッフのことで、学校をやむを得ない理由で退学してしまった子供達のことです。

CBBスクールでは学校を退学してしまった子供を探し、親元を離れてCBBスクールで復学するための勉強をしないかと問いかけています。

もちろん子供たちに復学する気がないのなら、私たちが関わる手段はありませんが、子供達が「退学してしまったけど、復学したい、もう一度学校で学びたい」と考えているならば私たちの出番だと思い、復学支援を続けていきます。

今、一緒に暮らしている3人の住み込みスタッフ、ダエン、ソパ、ソリはみんな復学し、学校教育を終え、きちんとした仕事に就くことを目指し、日々一生懸命勉強しています。

学習状況はそれぞれ異なり、15歳のソリはクメール語（カンボジアの公用語）を話せはしますが、読み書きが出来ません。16歳、17歳のソパ、ダエンはクメール語が出来、英語は全くと言ってよいほど出来ない状況です。それぞれ、クメール語、英語を習得する以前に退学してしまったのです。

私たちは月曜日～金曜日の朝と午後の時間に日本語を、そしてカンボジア人教師のプット君が英語とクメール語を教えています。

カンボジアでは、より多くの言語が出来るほど最終的なお給料が良いらしく、日本語を教えることは彼ら、彼らの家族のためになる活動なのです。

私もクメール語が出来るわけではないので、授業で苦労することは依然として多いですが、彼らのためにも、自分のためにもなると信じ、毎日彼らも、私自身も頑張っています。

【The life with training staffs】
I may tell you about training staffs before, I’ll explain about them again more detail. I’m leading my life with 5 interns, 1 Cambodian English teacher and 3 training staffs.

Training staffs usually live without their parents and other family members. They’ve gave up to go to schools because they had unavoidable reasons such as lack of money for schools.

CBB school have been looking for children to have given up to study at schools and then, asked “why don’t you live with us and study languages to return to schools?”

Of course, if a child doesn’t want to return to schools, we don’t have anything for him. But if a child has the positive feeling to return to the school, that’s our turn and we continue teaching.

Now, 3 training staffs live with us and all of them are studying hard everyday to return to schools, finish schools and get good jobs.

Their situations about study are different. One staff named Soli can speak Khmer (Cambodian language) but cannot read and write it. Two staffs named Sopa and Daen have learned Khmer but they haven’t learned English their schools. They gave up schools before learned the languages.

We usually teach Khmer, English and Japanese from Monday to Friday in the morning and evening.

In Cambodia, the more language people learn, the more they can get better jobs. So, I usually feel that my job is for training staffs and their families.

I cannot teach in Khmer, so there are still hard jobs for me, but they and I are doing our best believing this is always for them and for me.

【信じる力】
同じ屋根の下で、インターン生と教師と住み込みスタッフの子供達と生活していると常に感じることがあります。それは、「お互いを信じ、想い合う」ことの大切さです。

土曜日と日曜日は毎週スクールがお休みなので基本的に自由行動です。英語とクメール語を教えてくれているカンボジア人教師と、住み込みスタッフの子供たちは大抵自分の親がいる家に帰り、休日を家族と過ごしています。

CBBスクールで過ごし始めた、ある日のことです。週の初めに、教師と住み込みスタッフたちがCBBスクールに帰ってくる時間を知らなかった私は、彼らがなかなか帰ってこないことに気が付き、とても不安になりました。

私にとって正に「家族がいなくなった」感覚でした。
近所を回り歩いてくまなく探そうかと思いもしました。

結局彼らはお昼前ぐらいに帰ってきました。その時の安心感と言ったらもう、、本当にほっとしました。

そして、私は再び彼らに「おかえり」と伝えることが出来ました。

このことで私はもっと彼らを信じてあげるべきだったと反省しました。彼らももう15歳以上。自分達のことは自分達でできます。
門限を与えていれば、時間通りに帰ってくることが出来る。

私たちの彼らを信じる気持ちが伝われば、彼らも私たちの言動を観察し、「同時に信じあえる素敵な関係」を築くことが出来るのではないでしょうか。

彼らにも、言動を見て恐れず人を信じる力を身に付け、そして多くの人から信じられる人になってほしいと思っています。

【The power to believe】
Living in Cambodia with my family members, one feeling is always in my body. That’s the importance to believe and think each other.

Every Saturday and Sunday are holiday for us, and we usually do anything what we want to do. And a Cambodian teacher and training staffs sometimes go back to their house and have relax time with their families.

And one day, I didn’t know what day and time they would come back CBB school, and they didn’t come back here soon. At that time, I worried so deeply and felt just like lose my family. I thought I wanted to walk around CBB school to find them.

At last, they came back CBB school before noon. I became so relieved.
I could say “Okaeri (Welcome home)!” again.

From this occurrence, I felt that I should believe them more. All of them are over 15, and they can do their things by themselves. If there are rules, staffs can keep them all the time.

【クラウドファンディング】
住み込みスタッフの生活費（水道費、光熱費、食費など）や彼らの復学費用、制服代などを集めるために、2019年9月2日～2019年10月２２日にインターネット上でお金を募ることになりました。クラウドファンディングというインターネットサイトで、寄付金を募集します！2019年9月2日～2019年10月２２日の期間中にクラウドファンディングのサイト上で「NGO CBB」と検索してみてください。そして、どうか私たちの住み込みスタッフの子供達に寄付をよろしくお願い致します。

このお金が集まらなければ、CBBスクールで共に生活することも、復学することもできなくなってしまいます。私はこのことを聞いてすごく悲しくなりました。
インターン生には大学生の者も多く、まだまだ未熟ものかもしれませんが、私たちの「1度は退学してしまった住み込みスタッフたちに復学させてあげたい！」という気持ちは本気です。

復学できなければ、彼らがこれまで毎日一生懸命勉強し、高めてきた日本語、英語のスキルを十分に発揮できないまま暮らしていくことになります。

彼らに「一生懸命勉強したのに、願いが実らなかった、復学できなかった」と頑張ることを諦める大人に、私はなってほしくないです。
彼らに「頑張ってよかった」と思ってもらえるようになるためにも、私たちは日々笑顔で日本語、英語、クメール語を教えています。彼らに頑張った成果をあげるためにも、頑張る原動力を持ってもらう「きっかけ」を与えるためにも、どうかより多くの人々に寄付をして頂きたいと思っております。

【Crowdfunding】
We decided to raise a subscription for training staffs’ living expenses (food, heating, lighting and water expenses), returning to schools expenses, school uniforms and so on. We’ll do that on the Internet site called Crowdfunding from November 2nd, 2019 to October 22th, 2019, so on during this term, please search “NGO CBB” on Crowdfunding site and please donate for our training staffs! Please.

If we cannot collect target amount of money, all the staining staffs (children) cannot live in CBB school and of course, they cannot return to schools.
I felt so sad to hear the fact.
Almost interns are Japanese university students and may be said people without so many experiences, but all our members are earnest (serious) to let training staffs to return to schools and keep studying. I want them to make good use of their Khmer, English and Japanese skills they’ve learned in CBB school for their futures.

Also, I don’t want them to think “Even I studied hard every day, my wish to return to my school couldn’t come true. Even I’ll do my best, my wish cannot come true.”

We’re teaching languages to let training staffs feel good to last studying and do their best. To give them the result, and give them the great chance to feel the motive powers to do their best, I want as many people as possible to think of our training staffs who study languages every day to return their schools, and donate for them. Please.
