あまりに普通というか、今さら言うのも恥ずかしい気もするけれど、私は無印良品が好きだ。昔からずっと好き。
けれど、子供が産まれてからピンクや紫やユニコーンやポケモンやアンパンマンや、その他色々ポップな色合いと柄に囲まれる日々を送っている。
キャラクター達は可愛いのだけど情報量が多くて何だか疲れてしまうので、せめて自分だけでも、主張が少なくてスッキリした「もの」を持ちたいと常日頃より思っている。

無印良品の手帳は、ほぼ日のカレンダー同様、その年の相棒となる自分にとっては大切な定番アイテム。
予定を書き込むだけならスマホのスケジュール帳でも良いのだけれど、ちょっと残しておきたいメモやアイディアは紙に書くほうが私は頭が整理される気がする。とにかく思ったことは書いておくのがいい。すぐ忘れるから。

手帳も長いこと色々なものを試しては、「ここは良いけどここはちょっと・・」という帯に短きたすきに長し、が多くてなかなかベストな手帳に出会えずにいた。
私の理想の手帳の条件は、①シンプルなデザインであること。②フリーに書き込みがたくさんできること。③余計な情報はいらないこと。④重くないこと。の４つ。
書き込めるスペースは多いほうが良いけれど分厚いシステム帳みたいなものは重くてごつくて嫌。
学生の頃から年末に文具店などを回って色々見たり、ネットで探したりした結果・・。
結局、無印の手帳が一番使いやすいことに5‐6年前に気づいた（遅い）。色々追い求めたのに理想の人は近くにいた。

1月から新しい手帳になると何となく今年一年どんな年になるのか・・ワクワクな気持ちになる。気づけば、もう１月も後半になってしまったけれど、今年も良い一年になりますように。

While it might sound ordinary or even a bit embarrassing to admit, I've always had a fondness for MUJI. This love has persisted throughout the years. However, since having a child, my days have been filled with vibrant hues of pink, purple, unicorns, Pokémon, Anpanman, and various other lively patterns. While these characters are cute, the information overload can be overwhelming, and I find myself yearning for something simple and unobtrusive, at least for my personal space.

MUJI's planner, much like the Hobonichi calendar, have become an essential item for me each year, serving as my trusted companion. While a smartphone schedule app would suffice for basic scheduling, I feel that jotting down quick notes or ideas on paper helps me organize my thoughts. I simply want to write down whatever comes to mind, as I tend to forget things quickly. I've experimented with various planners over the years, and despite finding aspects I liked and disliked in each, the ideal planner remained elusive.

The criteria for my dream planner include:
1) a simple design, 2) ample space for free-form writing, 3) no unnecessary information, and 4) lightweight.
While more space to write is preferred, I dislike bulky system planners that are heavy and cumbersome. Despite exploring numerous options at stationary stores and online, I realized about 5-6 years ago (quite late) that MUJI's planner was the most user-friendly. It turned out that my ideal was right under my nose.

With the beginning of each new year, starting a fresh planner brings a sense of anticipation for the upcoming months. Although January is already well into its second half, I hope this year will be a good one. Here's to a wonderful year ahead.
