If you do one thing in Kyoto, this should be it! An amazing crash course in writing Japanese calligraphy. Chifumi is a great teacher and started with the basics of the different kinds of japanese letters, and the history. There is a lot to cover, but Chifumi made it feel like we had all the time in the world. I highly recommend you do this if you visit Kyoto!
