words from an abuse survivor 「karma」(代表挨拶、英訳全文)

the roles and the toxic pain that has sinked in, is still within me although so many years have passed.
even now, it is there and keeps getting in the way.

during the abuse, my arms and legs were tied up with ropes just like i was some rubbish newspapers, surviving by eating my own vomit.
you might think that's so sad or really
disgusting, or maybe think it's vitality, that depends on you.
but the feeling you have right now, which is probably definitely not positive, will actually link to abuse towards children and just a bit of understanding and action may save a small life, so please do not forget that.

after so many battles, i became a professional photographer as well as a single mother of 2 children.
karma is my anonymous name i use.
in an article called "he wasn't lazy just an addict" supervised by the ministry of health, (written by Misa Mimori) i was interviewed and casted as the childhood friend who recovered from drug abuse.

from that summer, i am the owner of a cafe called "gochamaze Cafe mem" which welcomes the "minority of this world" together with a creative studio called "otonaru studio"

with my partner Kota Endo who is a writer, together we are aiming to make this world a more easy to live place by using the theme 「social inclusion」

every time i hear 「japan is so safe or peaceful」it reminds me the fact that people do not recognise the world and environment which small children have to live in and it makes me angry.

with a hair dryer in the bath, some children are electricuted, what is safe about that.
some are beaten until their skull fractures, some are left inside cars under the tremendous heat and so many lose their lifes but we still call it a safe society and that is nonsense!
but, just by sitting in front of a computer at home and getting angry is not going to change anything.
we have to rise up and actually take it into action.
as a member stating the "social inclusion realization" i cannot ignore the abuse problems that i actually went through.
for me, for my children i really wanted and had to do something.
so, i contacted Issho Kon who wrote 「a letter to the worst parents, why don't you just throw them out?」

on his blog, there were so many words i could relate to.
of course i read the book too.
i thought i could actually do something to change this disgusting world in japan.
but it's never enough.
there is never enough understanding between the victims and the 3rd party.
people don't understand how much child abuse actually exists.
the worst part is, they don't care.
there are no arms that would reach out, no one who would try to take you in, there is not enough thought.
there is nothing, it's just not enough.

i became a mother and realized the actions of my parents that i detested with my whole body.
and even if i blamed them or punished them, there would be no meaning.
only the people who experienced the abuse will understand what we see.
as a victim, as a mother, what can i do.
i kept thinking that yesterday and today.
i know that there is no right answer.
but, thinking about the best solution when i can and actually taking it into action should mean something so that is why i will keep doing it.
so, i decided to host an event with Issho Kon to stop abuse against children.
Issho Kon has gathered so many voices of the victims so coming Autumn 2019, we are planning to raise a voice to the 3rd party in Tokyo.
it is Issho Kon's 3rd time doing an event like this but the upcoming event should be the most meaningful discussion and hopefully will change this society.
i just hope the voices of the victims, will reach as many people as possible.
for this event, a「No More Abuse Tokyo」team has been created.
