撮影現場は神奈川県の馬の背洞門。年の瀬に差し掛かる頃、最も南の方角に近づく朝日が馬の背洞門越しに顔を覗かせるという話しを聞き冬至に赴く先を決める。長い年月をかけて波の浸食でアーチ状に削られた洞門越しに登る朝陽を眺めながら、冬至の夜の長さに想いを馳せる。この座標では満天の星空を鑑賞することができる。夏の季節には東に輝く夏の大三角や南から北へと貫く天の川を鑑賞できるのだそうだ。陰極まって陽に転ずる。振り向くと西側では伊豆大島の越しに朝陽を一身に浴びて紅く染まる富士山を一望することが出来た。

The shooting location was Umanose Domon (Cave) in Kanagawa Prefecture. I decided to go there on the winter solstice after hearing that the sunrise, which approaches the southernmost point of the year, peeks through the Umanose Domon. As I watch the sun rise over the cave, which has been carved into an arch by the erosion of waves over the years, I think about the length of the winter solstice night. At these coordinates, you can admire the star-filled sky. In the summer season, you can see the Summer Triangle shining in the east and the Milky Way stretching from south to north. Yin is over and it turns to yang. When I turned around, I could see Mt. Fuji, bathed in the morning sun and dyed red, over Izu Oshima to the west.
