The Rolling Stonesは1967年まで英国版と米国版で販売されており、それぞれ微妙に収録曲も異なるので、同じ作品を書くかもしれないが時系列に沿って書いていく。
今作は英国版のデビュー・アルバム。 Mick JaggerとKeith Richardsによるオリジナル曲は「Tell Me (You're Coming Back)」の１曲のみ。この曲から世界的ヒットメーカーであるMick JaggerとKeith Richardsのコンビが始まった。また、今作はビルボード・アルバム・チャートでトップ5に入らなかったローリング・ストーンズの唯一のアメリカのスタジオ・アルバムでもある。
