What's "OtaCos"

The abbreviation stands for "Oinai Taki Cosplay Festival," which is Japan's largest location cosplay event held in the peaceful countryside of Taki Town, Mie Prefecture, surrounded by mountains. Since the summer of 2020, the event has been postponed for a long time due to the prevention of the spread of the novel coronavirus. However, it has been selected as part of the "Tourism Revitalization Project" for the year 2023 and will be held this year as the "【Must-see for Otaku】Opening of the Figure Museum with the Largest Exhibition Number in the World & Town-wide Cosplay Event." The "Tourism Revitalization Project" aims to create special experiences, nature, culture, food, and other various fields to promote tourism recovery throughout Japan and attract inbound visitors from around the world. For this year's event, efforts will be made to revive inbound tourism in Mie, including creating an English version of the website, distributing tourist maps in four languages (Japanese, English, Chinese (Traditional), and Korean), and focusing on information dissemination in Asian countries. Additionally, on November 12th, in collaboration with the Oinai Festival of Taki Town, we plan to organize an event where Taki Town comes together as one, inviting stage guests, and providing enjoyment not only for domestic visitors but also for customers from overseas.
