I had a dream the other night. In my neighborgood, a new music store was opened. The special thing about this store is that it was a Japanese music specialty shop. I entered and instantly had a blast looking around the record bins and CD shelves. This was incredibly wonderful! Besides the intial greif that this wasn't real, I felt so happy when I woke up!

Of course I like Western music, as well as Taiwanese and Korean music too, but I feel like, in Japan, there is never enough put into praising it's on music. The majority of used music stories and whatnot focus mainly on Western music. Sometimes there is even a sense of superiority of Western music over the domestic counter part, and this makes me sad.

Last night I watched a video about the history of Nu Metal. I commented on the video, which was released by a content creater I really enjoy, and I received a reply. My comment contained information about how Nu Metal lives on in Japan and gave some examples of bands which adhere to this style, but the reply I got seemed to be worded in a way as to mock me. I apologized for frequently mentioning Japanese music and explained that I live here and actually go to these shows. But was that necessary?
