幕張メッセは遠いですね！ Buck Tickのライブはすごかったけど、そこに着くのがどれほど難しいかという事実に驚きました。僕の住んでいる東京西部からは、電車で行くのに2時間近くもかかりました。今まで行ったことのない会場などに行くのは大好きですが、当面はいつもの新木場スタジオコーストや日本武道館で十分満足です。

生で見るのは今回が初めてでしたので、何を期待すべきかわからなかったです。彼らが有名なバンドで、80年代から大きなたくさんの人に支持されていることは知っていたけど、僕のような「音楽オタク」という感じのファン以外に、普通のファンがいたのか疑問に思いました。しかし会場に着いた時、ほとんどすべてのバンドグッズが売り切れていたので、その答えを早い段階で知ることができました。（僕は、僅かに残っていた赤いゴム製のブレスレットを、なんとか手に入れることができました。良かった！）。Buck Tickは絶対に筋金入りのファンに欠けていませんし、ホール全体は満員だったので、彼らはまだ非常に人気があるのだと思います。そして、驚くべきことに、観客の年齢層はかなり複雑でした！平均年齢は35歳ぐらいだったかと思いますが、これには広い範囲が含まれます。特に僕の周りには、20代前半のたくさんのファンがいるようでした。

「ゲゲゲの鬼太郎 × Buck Tick」の特別グッズを購入するチャンスを逃し、僕は少しがっかりしたまま会場に入り、左奥に席を見つけました。ステージからは結構離れていたのであまり良い席とは言えず、目の前には大きな柱さえありましたが、この柱自体はライブ鑑賞にさほど影響がありませんでした。そして、ライブが終わった時に群衆の波から逃げやすかったので、便利でした。ついに会場の明かりが消され、メンバーが一人一人ステージ上に来たのですが、見るのにかなり苦労しました。でもそんなことをしているうちに、トールのとがった髪のシルエットがバックライトに現れたのです！その瞬間、僕は「やった！Buck Tickだ！」と感じました。10年以上もずっと大好きなバンドを初めて見ることは、本当に最高ですね！息をのむような瞬間でした！

バンド全体の服装はかっこよかったです！特に敦司さんの黒い羽毛の襟巻。ステージ上では驚くべき存在感を放っていましたし、彼の視線も相まって魅惑が倍増していました。ゾクゾクしますね！今井さんの髪はピンクに染められ、ヒョウ柄の衣装を着ていました。2番目のアンコールで、ユニコーンの帽子をかぶってステージに出てきました。バンド全体としては風変わりな印象でしたが、もしかしたら今井さんが一番変かもしれないことを気づきました。とにかく、彼のエネルギーとパフォーマンスは印象的なんです！もちろん、U-TAさんとHIDEさんはほんとんど同じ場所にいましたが、トールさんを含め、非常に順調に音楽が移り変わって行きました。 最後のあたり、バンド紹介の間に、トールさんはかっこいいドラムソロを即興でやっていました。彼曰く、今年後半はいくつかの誕生日パーティーでお祝いをするらしいですよ！もし興味がある方がいたら、写真を参照してください。

このライブに行く前、Buck Tickの最新アルバムNo.0を約10回も聴き、静かな声で歌えるように準備していったのですが、彼らが演奏したのはほとんどバック・カタログのミックスでした。僕は約9枚もBuck Tickのアルバムを持っていたので、彼らの音楽に関して自分は初心者レベルであるとは全然考えていなかったのですが、演奏した曲のおそらく半分しか知りませんでした。他の観客の方は、腕を振ってバンドのリズムに合わせて歌ったので、僕よりも準備が整っていましたね。

全体的なパフォーマンスに加えて、ライブ全体の中で僕のお気に入りのポイントの1つは、ゲゲゲの鬼太郎 X Buck Tickのコラボレーションでした。「次の曲があるTVキャラクターのテーマソング」と敦司さんが発表した時、みんなは興奮して応援していました。「RONDO」を始める直前、鬼太郎のメインテーマソングのオープニングサウンドがバックグラウンドで聞こえてきました。僕達ファンは熱狂してしまいました！

全体的にこのライブは本当に良かったです！Buck Tickのライブを見るのは素晴らしかったです。デビューしてから長い彼らですが、今まで彼らのライブに行く機会があまりなく、実際に見たことがなかったことを少し後悔しましたが、とても感心させられました！ Buck Tickには確かに強い遺産があり、ファンを失望させません。千葉県まで行くのにはかなり大変でしたが、またBuck Tickのライブに行くためだったら頑張れます。

Makuhari Messe is far! Seeing Buck Tick live was amazing and I'm going to talk about that in a second, but, wow, I am surprised by how difficult it is to get there. From my home in western Tokyo, it took almost two hours to get there by train. While I love checking out new venues and such, I'm content with sticking with my usual Shinkiba Studio Coast or Nippon Budokan for the time being.

This was my first time to see them live, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew that they were famous and have had a large following since the 80s, but I was wondering if they had been able to maintain a fan base outside of freaks like me. I got my answer rather quickly, as, by the time I arrived, almost all of the band merchandise had been sold out (I was at least able to get a red rubber bracelet, though). Buck Tick is definitely not lacking in hardcore fans, and the whole hall was full, so I assume that they are still very popular in general. And, surprisingly, the age of the audience was quite mixed! I'd say the average age was around thirty five, but this includes a wide range: young children with their parents to people in their late fifties. Around me, in particular, there seemed to be a lot of fans in their early twenties. 

Feeling a little disappointed that I missed my chance to buy any GeGeGe no Kitarō X Buck Tick special edition items, I entered the hall and found my seat in the back left, which was rather far from the stage. Although it was difficult to see and there was a column right in front of me, this didn't affect the experience too much and I was very thankful for this location when the live ended. As the lights finally dimmed and the members came on stage one by one, I struggled to find them. Then, the silhouette of Toll's spiky hair appeared in the backlight. At that moment, I felt, "All right! It's Buck Tick!!". Nothing beats seeing a band you have loved for more than a decade finally in the flesh for the first time! It was a breathtaking moment for sure. 

The entire band dressed exceptionally, especially Atsushi with his black feathers. Atsushi has such a strong stage presence and his gaze is even more mesmerizing. I felt chills! Imai sported a green and leopard print outfit with pink hair. He came out on stage with a unicorn hat for the second encore. I have learned that while the whole band is eccentric, Imai might be the strangest. Regardless, his energy and performance are impressive! Of course, Yutaka and Hidehiko performed very well, albeit mainly staying in one position. Toll's drumming was also always on point. During the band introductions, he did a really cool impromptu drum solo. And for those interested, he is having some birthday party celebrations later this year! Please refer to the picture above!

In preparation for this concert, I had listened to Buck Tick's newest album, No. 0, about ten times and I was ready to quietly sing along. (Un)fortunately for me, they played a great mixture of their catalogue, to the extent that I found myself lost at points. With about nine Buck Tick albums, I never considered myself a novice in terms of their music, but I probably only knew half of the songs they played. The rest of the audience was better prepared than I was as they waved their arms and sang along in great unison with the rhythm of the band.

Besides the overall performance, one of my favorite points of the whole concert was Buck Tick's collaboration with GeGeGe no Kitarō. When Atsushi announced that the next song is being used for a certain TV character's theme song, everyone cheered with excitement. Then, just before starting the song, RONDO, the opening sounds to Kitarō's main theme song were played in the background. This drove us fans wild.

Overall, it was amazing to see Buck Tick live. I felt a little disappointed that I had not been able to see them at different points in their long career, but to finally see them blew me away! Buck Tick definitely has a strong legacy and they don't let their fans down. Even though there many inconveniences with going all the way to Chiba, I would do it all over again just to see them play.
