BGM: The Beatles - All You Need Is Love

Recently, an elder friend of mine posted a message about a classic song "We Are The World" on X. Once when I was a kid, I heard this song many times even though I couldn't understand its true value. Now, even though I have some opinions to criticize this certainly, I still love this song - and at today's lunchtime, I thought about this song's true meaning.

When we use the word "we", basically it can mean there must be two people (or more). I, and also the one who must be different from me (even though they are clones, they must have different bodies or minds). In short, the gap or difference between them causes various chances of communications to realize true unifying or disconnecting.

But, although there must be any gaps certainly, we can make a bond between us and connect ourselves with a certain belief toward God or any higher existences - or any beautiful concepts such as love and peace. In other words, if we have common ideals, we can have true relationships as lovers or friends. If this is true, then at first we need a certain great, holy concept - that is the role of the concept "We Are The World".

I also remember a message another friend of mine sent to a LINE group. He said, "We might have to notice that we are standing in this world with the support of a bigger existence". Maybe I would thought this opinion was just a silly one because at that time I could never believe in God or any holy existence. But now, even though love or peace could be just an ideology, I would choose them to make this world and my life better.

This evening, I read Mark Kingwell's book "Wish I Were Here" [マーク・キングウェル『退屈とポスト・トゥルース』]. Although it has quite, too difficult or abstract style to enjoy casually, I could find that this has truly provoking, actual content. As this book says, I have to admit that I have an addictive mind to the internet, therefore my daily life without a smartphone is simply impossible. To kill boredom, and also not to think about anything deeply, I use my smartphone - That's real, so I need to face this addiction.
