April has begun, hasn't it? 🌸 Personally, although I feel a bit lonely as winter is my favorite season, every time I go to the office and see the cherry blossoms blooming, it fills me with a sense of seasonality and makes me smile naturally.

On a personal note, I recently had my first camping experience...! ⛺ When you think of camping, you might imagine heavy equipment like tents and sleeping bags being essential. However, there are also light camping options where you can stay in lodges, and even I could easily enjoy camping! ✨

In today's increasingly convenient world with the spread of the internet and smartphones, camping offers an extraordinary experience. Cooking over a campfire and other activities are akin to what we call "primitive experiences." Interestingly enough, one could argue that the metaverse and virtual spaces we interact with daily, including REALITY, also provide extraordinary experiences. 😳

Realizing that this feeling of being surrounded by something every day and experiencing awe-inspiring moments is always close by was quite profound for me.

So, to deliver extraordinary experiences that inspire awe day and night to all of you, we'll be bringing you the changes in REALITY this month. Now, let's dive into the March edition of the REALITY Newsletter!

Update Information

■Avatar2.0

The highly anticipated major update, REALITY Avatar 2.0, has finally been announced!🎊

You'll now be able to create avatars taller or shorter than before, with options for fuller or slimmer body types! Even more customization is now possible!

New face contours and noses, more customization to already existing face parts and more will be added!😳✨

Also, a new category called “Eye Makeup” will be added for those who want to be a little bit more fashionable…!💄

Alongside various other features and a multitude of new parts, we're aiming to release around the summer of 2024! Please look forward to it!

■ Room Updates!

Our REALITY Room has been updated again and again without stopping, and this time four new updates were released!✨

The first one…! You’re now able to use the Camera in 360° in the Room! This was based on your feedback, so thank you so much for it!

There used to be limitations on angles in a certain direction, but with this update, you can now capture the screen from any composition you like🎥✨

Third! The amount of Cake Towers displayed in the Room was increased to 53!

Since in the Booth sometimes not all Cake Towers received were displayed and some users asked to use the space in the Room to display them…🎂

Since I had the opportunity to talk to the team responsible for the character count display this time, I've taken the liberty of picking out some highlights to share with you! 🚩 First, take a look at this image. 👀

Some of you might have experienced repeatedly writing and erasing to make the most of the character limit when you wanted to utilize your input to the fullest. Although it may seem like a small change, developments aimed at improving convenience, like "This is what I wanted...!" have been progressing alongside new feature developments.

"Until now, the iOS platform did not have a character count in the profile editing screen, so we made an improvement. We believe this will enhance the user experience for those who frequently change their names during events or after events end. Additionally, in input screens like this, text could sometimes be truncated depending on the language. Personally, I'm happy that this update will also accommodate multilingual users. Thank you very much for your numerous opinions and requests for REALITY.

Metaverse! (Greetings)       I'm DJ RIO, REALITY's CEO! 🦊

Did you all enjoy the April Fools' Day event? At this time, I wrote a note about the future vision that REALITY envisions and creating a world where you can earn money in the metaverse, so please be sure to check it out.

Efforts to create a world where you can earn money through live streaming are not limited to Japan. Initiatives to strengthen events and support streamers are already underway in several countries in North America and Asia.

We want to continue showcasing the potential of the metaverse to users around the world, so we'll do our best this month too!!

Hello everyone! It's been almost a year since we last spoke! I'm naratas, the Product Manager.

Although this is the March edition of the REALITY Newsletter, it's scheduled to be released in April, so I'd like to talk about the April Fools' Day project this time...

From April 1st (Monday) to April 7th (Sunday), we held the "REALITY April Fools' 2024" event. I was in charge of the overall project management, and specifically, I was responsible for the "Motion Magic Camera" project.

This year, we had a wide range of projects, including "Let's Draw in the Room," "Mysterious Egg," "Motion Magic Camera," "Chibi Character World," "REALITY Cup Kicks off!," and "Suzuki-san Headgear Furniture," among others. Did you have any favorite projects? I hope you enjoyed them even a little!

Since I have the opportunity, I'd like to briefly talk about the "Motion Magic Camera" project that I was in charge of. This project started with the concept of realizing a "moving camera" like those seen in 3D VTuber streams, especially aiming for "emotionally impactful camera effects used in music live streams," in room streams.

While the existing "booth" in REALITY is 3D in space, it's composed of simple elements like "back walls and floors." On the other hand, the "room" allows you to create a "space with depth" by freely placing furniture in a room surrounded on all sides, which is one of its charms.

When streaming in a room, instead of a fixed camera from one direction, moving the camera to highlight the depth of the "space" as a three-dimensional space, it can better convey the charm of the room you created and elevate the quality of the streaming visuals. What did you think about it if you used it...?

Not only the "Motion Magic Camera" but also the features and furniture released this time are fragments of "possible" new features that may be realized in the future of REALITY. If we receive many voices saying "It was fun!" from you, maybe someday in the future of REALITY, it will come back in a more powered-up form? An April Fools' Day survey is being conducted until April 14th (Sunday), so I look forward to your passionate comments, opinions, and requests!

Speaking of which, I was also in charge of the "Hand Tracking" feature released on April Fools' Day last year. Although it's not specifically my responsibility to handle April Fools' Day projects, I seem to have a deep connection with REALITY's April Fools' Day. I wonder what we should do next year... I should start thinking about it now...

Once again, I realized that I want to continue creating things that make you feel "fun," "interesting," and "happy" in REALITY.

Finally, the temperature is getting warmer! This means... sake... tastes... good... It's the season for cherry blossom viewing!

Now, at REALITY, every year on April Fools' Day, we release limited-time features that also serve as tests for the future functions REALITY envisions. This year, we released a whopping six features, making for an exciting week. I hope everyone enjoyed them! Some of them were so big that they almost overflowed from the house... Quite a shocking sight!

Please look forward to what next year's April Fools will bring. (I wonder if we can surpass this year's... Engineers and product folks, you're always amazing... )
