Our Approach to Safety

At REALITY, you can break free from the constraints of the real world to become “whoever you want” and express yourself in several ways. 
We have users who actively pursue their dreams and objectives, users who support those giving their best in their activities, users who just want to enjoy a relaxed REALITY lifestyle, and many other forms of becoming whoever you want. 

In order to make REALITY a place where many people can connect and engage in a variety of activities, we believe that it is necessary to make REALITY a safe environment for the community to use. We have been working on various initiatives such as strengthening audits and developing functions to make REALITY safer. On the other hand, we have not disclosed to you our specific efforts and the number of detections to date.

To ensure that everyone can enjoy REALITY with peace of mind, we have decided to launch a Transparency Report this month to disclose the number of issues that have been addressed, our efforts to improve safety, problems reported by users, and our policy for resolving these issues. The Transparency Report will be updated monthly.

Number of Cases Handled - July 2023

Both the number of callers and the number of penalties increased in July compared to the previous month.
July was affected by the summer vacation season in many areas, which led to a particularly large increase in the number of restrictions for those under 13 years of age, with +125 cases compared to the previous month.

Efforts in July 2023

Notes on account sharing and use of the same device

REALITY takes strict action against users who repeatedly commit malicious violations, and may suspend all accounts held by such users or restrict the use of their devices.
If you share an account or use the same device with those penalized users, you may be subject to the same restrictions as the related accounts.
In addition, the use of one's account information by a third party is prohibited under Article 4 of the Terms of Service (Member's Obligation to Manage Account, etc.), and any use of the application is deemed to be by the user himself/herself.
Please note that even if you receive a penalty for sharing accounts or using the same device, we cannot accept individual requests to remove the penalty.
In order to protect your account from unintentional penalties, please do not share accounts or devices.

Review of the restricted words

As part of the announcement on the review of the restricted words made in the May Transparency Report, the first wave of words removed from the restricted list will happen on August 21 (Monday). 
The removal of the filter on the profile words is planned to happen in early September, so please wait a little bit more until the update.
※The restricted word list will be mitigated, however, the criteria for violations will not be changed. Please note that inappropriate expressions will continue to be subject to penalty.
