Our Approach to Safety

At REALITY, you can break free from the constraints of the real world to become “whoever you want” and express yourself in several ways. 
We have users who actively pursue their dreams and objectives, users who support those giving their best in their activities, users who just want to enjoy a relaxed REALITY lifestyle, and many other forms of becoming whoever you want. 

In order to make REALITY a place where many people can connect and engage in a variety of activities, we believe that it is necessary to make REALITY a safe environment for the community to use. We have been working on various initiatives such as strengthening audits and developing functions to make REALITY safer. On the other hand, we have not disclosed to you our specific efforts and the number of detections to date.

In order to ensure that everyone can enjoy REALITY with peace of mind, we have decided to launch a Transparency Report this month to disclose the number of issues that have been addressed, our efforts to improve safety, problems reported by users, and our policy for resolving these issues. The Transparency Report will be updated monthly.

Number of Cases Handled (May 2023)

In May, there was an increase in fraudulent activities related to events compared to April, leading to a slight increase in temporary usage restrictions. However, on the other hand, the number of users repeatedly violating the rules has decreased, resulting in a reduction in permanent usage restrictions.

• Restrictions on use by users under 13 years of age: 400

Efforts in May 2023

In May, we have been making preparations for upcoming feature updates. While the official announcement is still a little way off, we have two updates planned as follows:

Review of usage restriction specifications for users who violated the Terms of Service

The administration acknowledges that there are several issues with the current specifications for usage restrictions. To address these concerns and make improvements, the following updates will be implemented:

• Restricted users will be unable to access the application (account suspension)

  • Previously, only the communication features with other users were restricted. However, moving forward, the ability to use the entire application will be restricted.

  • With this change, it will no longer be possible to engage in harassment or misuse of restricted accounts.

• We will provide the users who have been restricted with the specific reasons for the restriction.

  • While in the past, there may have been cases where we were unable to communicate the reasons for usage restrictions, going forward, we will ensure that all restricted accounts receive clear explanations for the restrictions imposed.

• Restricted users will be identifiable to others.

  • Moving forward, we will make it explicit in the user's profile that they are under restrictions.

Review of the restricted word list

We have regularly received feedback from users that some words are being restricted even though they are not deemed inappropriate.

We consider it an issue if certain restrictions hinder your communication, and taking into account the addition of moderator functions that allow users themselves to impose restrictions, we have decided to eliminate the use of restricted words in "Profiles" and "Live Chat Comments."

We hope that moving forward, you can enjoy communication without the stress of unintended posting restrictions.
Please note that while restricted words will be relaxed, there have been no changes to the criteria for violations.

Inappropriate expressions will continue to be subject to penalties, so we kindly ask you to adhere to the "Terms of Service" and "Community Guidelines" while using our platform. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
