The day has come again. It's April Fool's Day. REALITY has been devoting quite a bit of passion to April Fool's Day every year, but for us, April 1st is not a day for telling funny lies, but rather a day to temporarily show REALITY in a fun and amusing way in the near future. It's strange, isn't it? Where did we go wrong in interpreting April Fool's Day???
So, in this note article, I would like to give a brief introduction to this year's April Fool's Day project, and also announce where REALITY is heading in the future, as well as provide a teaser for the upcoming major update scheduled for the near future.

Chibi Character World!

I think most of you have an image of "What you want to be". I want to be a cute little DJ with animal ears! In this world, there's a magic that turns everyone into chibi characters when they join it. Wow, the world around us looks so big...!

Motion Magic Cam!

Don't you think it would be more impressive if there were some great camera work during talk or singing streams? For those of you thinking that an AI cameraman has joined the room! With professional-level skills, it will automatically switch between multiple cameras to support creating impressive streams!

Miracle Eggs!

It was a huge hit in our internal playtest, a lot of us were thinking: “Creepy!!!!”
Now, in the room, you can warm up eggs and hatch mysterious creatures. This one... it moves!!!

Let's Draw in the Room

With this new canvas furniture, you can draw while in the Room and decorate your room with your own paintings!

Suzuki-san's Costume Furniture!

The community-wide loved Suzuki, the Seagull is now available as furniture to be used in the Room! Be sure to check it out too!

REALITY CUP Kicks Off!

There's also a new Soccer Field in the Room that can be used to play with your friends! Don't forget to invite your friends and arrange your own REALITY Cup!

The direction REALITY is heading towards

REALITY has always been updating a lot, especially with recent updates like the elimination of free points and updates to the ranking system. Some have been wondering where REALITY is heading. Will it become a live-streaming platform only? In response to that, I'd like to take this opportunity to talk about where REALITY is headed in the future.

REALITY is a metaverse where you can be whoever you want to be.

The vision of REALITY is to "be whoever you want to be." Liberated from the constraints of one's born body or social status, one can have an avatar representing their desired self and enjoy new encounters and experiences within the virtual space. We aim to create a place where people can enjoy living in this manner.

Creating opportunities for those who want to be whoever they want to be.

So far, REALITY has evolved to allow users to become their desired selves through avatars, create new opportunities for interaction, and play through chat, worlds, and games. We've already received many voices from users saying that they've become the person they want to be, and we're truly delighted by that.
However, in the latter part of our vision, to "be whoever you want to be," one must be able to earn money. Therefore, REALITY has decided to enhance the mechanism for earning money through live streaming as one of the means to "live as the person you want to be," or in other words, to make live streaming a viable profession. We're working on expanding various features and updating the event system for streamers to achieve this goal.

Creating various “ways of life”

Being a Streamer/Liver is just one of the many jobs that REALITY will create in the future. If you look around the real world, there are many different jobs such as shop assistants, school teachers, fashion designers, translators, civil servants, and game developers... There are truly a variety of occupations. As the metaverse continues to evolve and more people spend time living and working there, I believe that we will be able to have even more diverse ways of life. REALITY also wants to create various ways of earning a living and living. In the future, while REALITY will remain a place to enjoy interaction and play as the person you want to be, it will evolve into a metaverse where you can also "live" by working and earning!

Major Update Announcement!

REALITY will continue to evolve further! It's the perfect timing to announce a major update!

REALITY Avatar 2.0

REALITY is being used by a diverse range of people in 63 countries and regions around the world. As the diversity of REALITY users grows, we've received many voices saying, "With the current avatar system in REALITY, I can't become the person I want to be." In response, the REALITY development team has decided to undertake a major update to the avatar system.

Not only the team in Japan but also REALITY avatar designers from various countries in North America and Asia have participated in this challenging endeavor for over a year. Through surveys and prototyping for users, they have been striving to balance avatar quality and freedom of expression within technical constraints.
In this Summer 2024, a new avatar system codenamed REALITY Avatar 2.0, will be released. This new system will allow users from various ethnicities, cultures, and identities to express themselves more freely.
Your current avatar can still be used as is, and existing clothing and hairstyles can still be used. However, users will have more flexibility in customizing body shapes and facial features. Additionally, a large number of new items such as hairstyles, eyes, and cheeks will be added.
