The UK force and other NATO forces had no decisive role in Afghan. Some of those nations paid off Taliban not to attack them. Anyway, now in the UK parliament they were bleating about how shameful it was to pull out in such manner. At what I'm getting is it was absolutely out of their hands. I am not surprised if they were given a few days notice before the US announcement. 'Without American might, we had no choice.' was what Johnson said. I'd say 'Fair enough'.

Kier Starmer and Theresa May was banging on it. But it was a distinction without difference. The question should have been, if they wanted to slam on it,  'Why on earth did they go in there in the first place? How did they allow it to go on twenty years?'

Anyway, if Afghan themselves don't want to fight to defend whatever it maybe against whatever they are fleeing from, no other people should have to fight that.

Afghan security forces collapsed even before the fight, the president fled the country leaving his people behind. No matter how well you prepare the exit strategy, that is no saving for Afghans. You can argue about the technicality of exit process but overall
picture doesn't change.
