CL Nigata 11-3 Mew Vmax Tips note

Hello!
I usually play PTCG in Fukuoka,
My name is Lei.

Thank you for your interest in my article.
I used Mew Vmax at CL Niigata.
DAY1: 8-1
DAY2: 3-2
I was able to make a total of 11-3!
The final ranking was 38th.

This article is an explanation of the Mew Vmax I used.
I have been using it since right after Fusion Strike went on sale!
That's how much I love the deck and have been thinking about it.

I believe that the Mew Vmax is a deck that can change and fight with the environment, changing with it, until it can no longer be used due to regulation changes.

On the other hand, it is a deck that is difficult to handle, as you may get stuck with cards in your hand after the Fusion System, and it is very important to fill your bench depending on how you face the opponent.
We hope you will find this article useful as an explanation of how to use Mew Vmax.

■ Introducrion

Since it is nice to meet some of you, I will begin with a brief self-introduction.

Lei
Poker history: 4 years
Active Region : Fukuoka

Achievements
2023CL Kyoto DAY2
2023CL Niigata 38th
City League best4 2 times, best8 2 times

All of the above achievements have been achieved with Mew Vmax.

■Tier table

I'll start with the tier table I assumed for CL Niigata.

Tier1
・Gardevoir EX
・Lugia(Single Strike)
・Lugia(Colorless)

Tier2
・Lost Zone Giratina or Lost Giratina
・Lost Zone Toolbox (Kyogre)
・Chien-Pao EX

Tier3
・Arceus Vstar
・Hisuian Goodra

Decks with higher tiers have high deck power that can survive a series of battles and reproducibility.

In addition to this, one of the strengths that Mew Vmax have is their ability to deal with decks outside of the tier.
I believe that Mew Vmax is the only deck that can defeat Pokémon on the bench while using Boss's Order from turn 2.
If you can learn to use it, I think you will not be afraid of any face-off!

The content of the paid portion thereafter is as follows

・Deck List
・Details of each cards
・Matching on the day
・Strategies and notes to aim for in each matchup
・At the end of the article

I hope this is helpful!

■Deck List

In this section, I will include deck lists for DAY 1 and DAY 2.

Day1
Day2

■Details of Each Cards

In this section, I write the reasons and the main times to use the cards in the deck list.
Detailed usage for each matchup is written in the next section, so please read it in conjunction with the next section!

Mew Vmax 3 - Mew V 4
As it goes without saying, these are the stars of the deck.
It is important to know which Pokémon's attacks to use in Cross Fusion Strike.

Genesect V 4
Draw role supporting Fusion Strike.

Meloetta 1
Melodious echo hits the maximum 280 damage. It is also attractive to get 210 damage at second turn 1.

Deoxys 1
Attached Double Turbo Energy, Fusion Energy, it gets you 2 side cards against Lost and Gardevoir. The fact that its HP is 120, higher than Meloetta's, is also important.

Goods and Tools

[Goods]

Ultra Ball 4
only one can bring any Pokémon at any time. 2 cost is carefully chosen. It is because you can choose any card for the cost. Just having one card in your hand will guarantee you a Fusion System 3-card draw. If this choice is slightly off, it can cause you to be stuck with hands at the end of the game. Please plan your use of this card carefully.
Priority order of cost
Pokémon left in the deck >> Support >> Stadium

Battle VIP Pass 4
I want to draw a lot on turn 1 (just I hope). There are few cards that can touch Genosect-V in the mid-game or later in the deck, so put Genosect-V on the Bench first.

Nest Ball 2 (Nest Ball 1, Misty Crystal 1)
While this is a turn 1 hit, it is also super important in the midgame when calling Mew V after Psychic Leap. Use after seeing that there is room on the bench.

Hisuian Heavy Ball 1
When both Mew v and Genosect v drop two cards on the side, it's pretty hard to face any of them. Rescuer from the side. The fact that it can consume cards in hand is also attractive.

Cram - o-matic 4
50% card to pull off a win. It is often used to roll coins to pay for unused VIP pass or goods that are not used by the opponent (e.g. Echoing horn).

Power Tablet 4
Supports Mew, which does not have 4 hits. You should check prized or not. It's difficult because you can't waste even a single card in any face to face situation.

Switch cart 1
It is necessary to prevent Genosect V from Lost's attack(Lost Mine). It is often used in conjunction with Mew Vmax's retreat, so be careful of the order of play.

Escape rope 1
After using up tablets, it is essential when a Pokémon with large HP is walled off. It would be nice if it could be used in place of the boss's order. If your opponent's bench is too small and you can call V pokemon to the battlefield, you'll be so, so happy!

Lost Sweeper 2
If you increase the stadium cards itself to change the path to the peak, you will be stuck with your cards. We need another way to change stadium. The cost can be any card, so being able to cost a 2nd or 3rd Eisa's Sparkle.

Pal Pad 1
support tends to be the cost of Ultra Ball. Be careful about the number of cards you put back, as you cannot compress the deck if you put too many back. put Judge, Boss'order, and Iono to deck.

Echoing horn 1
Mew's strategy to win is basically 2-2-2 prize cards plan. Even if there are only 2 V or EX on the board, you can bring them back with this card.

[Pokémon's tools]

Forest Seal Stone 3
You can get any card in your hand. Save as much as possible for the end of the game.

Choice Belt 1
Increase damage against Giratina, Lugia, and Arceus. Mew Vmax with double turbo and belt + 2 tablets can reach 280 HP.

Cleansing Gloves 1
When You use psychic leap to Comfey and Sableye, you don't need to use the tablet. Also use it to ohko a Gardevoir EX.

Support Stadium Energy

[Support]

Elsa's Sparkle 3
If you can use it on the first turn, you can take advantage of the game. It is essential to make this turn.

Boss's Order 2
An important card that can call Pokémon from the Bench. You use it three times in many games, including with Pal Pad.

Iono 1
Some Pokémon, such as Drapion, will ohko Mew Vmax. In return, you want to use Iono to reduce your opponent's hands. In the first half of the game, you don't use it much except for the purpose of flushing out your opponent's hand.

Judge 1
I want to use it aggressively against Gardevoir EX and Lost Zone Toolbox from the beginning of the game. It is even better if you leave one Fusion System after Judge.

[Stadium]
Path to the peak 1
This is used to stop the ability of Gardevoir EX and Radiant Greninja. When setting up this card, use it with support for hand interference. Lost Kaiohga plans to take Genosect V. On the other hand, they will not be taken in one turn, it will take two turns including Lost Mine. By putting up a crystalline cave in the intervening turn, it is possible to shift the turn in which Genosect V K.O.

Lost City 1
Stretch it when you want to send Drapion v, Sir Knight's Kirlia or Lost Cayuga's Kagayaku Gekkouga to Lost.

[Energy]

Fusion Energy 4
The greatest strength of this Pokémon is that it does not receive the effects of its characteristics from the opponent's Pokémon. Since it prevents from the abilities of Spiritomb(Fettered in Misfortune) and Ting-Lu EX(Cursed Land), you can use the Fusion System by attaching Fusion Energy to Genosect V.

Double Turbo Energy 3
Ideally, it should be attaced to Mew Vmax on the battlefield and Mew V on the bench. It is also the retreat energy for Genosect V.

■Strategies and notes

In this section, I will explain the best plan that the opponent can take against Mew and the best board that the Mew side can aim for in each game.
Of course, it is not always possible to achieve this in every game, since it depends on the cards in hand, but it is written here as a goal.

Gardevoir EX

Opponent's Plan
The prize cards plan is 1-2-3.
If an Sky seal stone is adapted,
2-4 (V with sky seal stone will defeat Mew Vmax).

Mew prize cards plan
Attack's Section
In the first turn2 or the second turn1,
It is important to use attack surely.
You must not lose the tempo of the game.
The order of attackers is
Deoxys - Mew Vmax - Mew Vmax.
The prize cards plan is 1-1-1-1-2 (Gardevoir EX).
The first 1-1 is Deoxys, the next 1-1 is Mew Vmax.
In the last, the second Mew Vmax get two prize cards.

Support Section
When you use Judge,
The first is before more Kirlia are on the board with Mirage Step.
The second is when I am late in the tempo of the game.
(Before you advance two cards on your side.
When your opponent starts declaring a move).
Use in conjunction with Path to the Peak.

When you use Iono,
It is final stage in the game.
It is even better if Kirlia (Refinement) and
Gardevoir(Shining Arcana) are less in the board.

You have to use Elsa's Sparkle as early in the game as possible.
Mew Vmax of two fusion energies is important when defeating Gardevoir EX.

I leave the link for your reference of the early stage of game.

Lugia(Single Strike)
Opponent's prize cards plan

Prize cards Plan 3-3.
TyranitarV ohko Mew Vmax twice.

Mew prize cards plan
Attack's Section
Whether you are the first or the second,
The prize card plan to aim for is 2-2-2.
You should not be lagging behind in tempo.
And if you can,
You attack Lugia V, Tyranitar V, and Lugia Vstar.
To pass this plan,
You have to use tablets 1, 2, 2+belt,
so you can't waste even a single tablet, be careful.

Support Section
It is the second turn1, when you use Judge.
It is important when you could not play Melodious Echo.
If you use Fusion System twice and can't seem to hit an Echo,
Switch the strategy to use Judge and Path to the peak.

You use Iono aggressively in the final stage of the game.
Lugia has few resources to bring a Basic Pokémon.
Use it  when the next Tyranitar V is not on the board.

Regardless of whether you attack first or second,
Use Elsa's Sparkle in the turn when your attack is Melodious Echo.
The Energy is attached to Meloetta and Mew v (or Mew Vmax).

Lugia(Colorless)
Opponent's prize cards plan

Because Snorlax can do 180 damage,
It is necessary to have two Mew V on the bench.
On the other hand, if you put two Mew Vmax on the bench, your opponent will take prize cards 3-3.
Wyrdeer V and Drapion V attacks. You have to be careful of the opponent's board and energy management.

Mew prize cards plan
Attack's Section
Like Lugia (Single Strike), the prize cards plan is 2-2-2.
You must not lose tempo either.
And if you can take,
Lugia V, Drapion V, and Lugia Vstar.
When you go through this plan,
Your attackers are Mew Vmax, Meloetta, Mew Vmax in that order.

Support Section
Almost the same as Lugia(Single Strike).

Lost Zone Giratina or Lost Giratina
Opponent's prize cards plan

While playing Path to the Peak, Spiritomb(Fettered in Misfortune) is on the bench.
They lock the Fusion System of Genosect V.

Mew prize cards plan
Attack's Section
In the early stage of the game,
you get two prize cards by using Deoxys' Photon Boost.
The question is what to do after Deoxys is knocked out.

  1. When there is a Giratina V on the opponent's bench, you ohko Giratina V with Boss's Order.

  2. When there is no Giratina V on the opponent's bench, your attack is Psychic Leap with 1 tablet or with Cleansing Gloves to Confey and Sableye.
Mew V, which has neither energy nor tools, is placed on the battlefield and the turn is over.

Basically, repeat steps 1 and 2, advancing 4 prize cards by the time your opponent reaches 10 Lost cards.
Finally, Giratina Vstar comes out and you K.O. it with a belt + 2 tablets.

Support Section
You use Judge on the return of the turn when the opponent has more cards in hand because of Colress's Experiment and Comfey(Flower Selecting).
In the mid to late stages of the game, use Judge aggressively even if the above does not apply.

You use Iono in the latter half of the game.
It is better if you can reduce the number of Comfeys in your board.

If possible, use Elsa's Sparkle early in the game.
Giratina deck may have Spiritomb(Fettered in Misfortune), so the pokemon to attach Fusion Energy is often Deoxys and Genosect V.
You have to decide by looking at your opponent's board.

Lost Zone Tool Box(Kyogre)
Prize cards plan is 2-2-2.
The opponent put damage counters to Genosect V,
It is important to play Psychic Leap, Switch Cart, and Crystal Cave.

Mew prize cards plan
Attack's Section
When the battlefield is Comfey or Sableye,
Your attack is Psychic Leap with 1 or 2 tablets or with Cleansing Gloves.
However, when the opponent has 7 Lost cards( Mirage Gate range), Snorlax(Unfazed fat) will K.O. Mew V.
Watch the contents of your opponent's deck and decide whether to return Mew V to the deck or not.

Support Section
You use Judge in the return turn when your opponent's hand has increased with Colress's Experiment and Comfey(Flower Selecting).
In the mid to late stages of the game, use Judge aggressively even if the above does not apply.

When the opponent has 4 prize cards left, you have to use Iono aggressively.

Collect damage counters to Mew
Cramorant's Spit Innocently is received with Mew V.
If Genosect V is hit by Spit Innocently, you use Switch cart and crystal cave and recover 60 damages of Genosect V
If you use them properly, you can get out of Sableye's Lost Mine range.
You can't waste a single tablet because you get prize cards with Psychic Leap. Note that you needed two tablets if you attack Cramorant.

Chien-Pao EX
Opponent's prize cards plan
The prize cards plan is 1-2-3 or 3-3.
When they take 2 prize cards,
the opponent use Dynamic Wave of  Kyogre.
Mew v on the bench is knocked ou, so be careful!

Mew prize cards plan
Attack's Section
Basically, this is side plan 2-2-2.
Any 2 is fine, so is Meloetta herself,
Melodious Echo needs a turn to be played.
The following is a separate section for the first and second attackers, as there are different things to keep in mind.

When you are first

If your opponent's battlefield is a V or EX Pokémon on turn2,
You should K.O. the battle Pokemon.
If you can defeat Chien-Pao EX early in the game, and there is no other Chien-Pao EX on the bench,
opponent will not be able to bring Water Energy2 from the deck.
The only exception is
that there is only one Frigibax on the bench.
You can defeat the Frigibax with the Boss's order.

When you are second
It is very important  which pokemon you put on the bench in the first turn.
If your V Pokémon is defeated on first turn 2,
you will not be able to make the 2-2-2 prize card plan in time.
Taking care of even the Escape Rope,
You have to put Deoxys on the battlefield and Meloetta on the bench.
It is important not to take 2 prize cards on the 2nd turn of the first attack!
