“ウタヨミビト”の2ndシングル『躑躅の花』は、「万葉集」の他「古今和歌集」「後拾遺和歌集」「新続古今和歌集」など広く二十一代集の中で詠まれた日本の晩春を鮮やかに彩る“躑躅(ツツジ)”の和歌をモチーフに紡ぎ合わせ、巧みに現代語訳した作品。
“ポルトガルギター(ギターラ・ポルトゲッサ)”で奏でる郷愁感-サウダージ-溢れる音楽“ファド”をベースにしたサウンドは、沖縄の三線由来の新たな楽器”四線”の音色と相俟って、ユーラシア大陸を東西に遠く隔てた二つの響きを融合し、古人が花に寄せた想いを抒情豊かに表現します。

The music arrangement of this song is based on Portuguese popular music "fado".
We play it by the Portugal guitar called "guitarra Portuguessa"and also use the Okinawan-Japanese new music instrument "yonshin" which is developed from traditional sanshin to crossover the far eastern music culture.
The lyrics sung in Japanese are improvised from the Japanese poetry called "waka".
The motif of this song is a beautiful azalea which was written in the oldest collection of Japanese poetry "Manyoushu" and Japanese twenty one imperial collections of waka poetry "The Nijyuichidaishu".
